how far apart is 3 times a day

When taking Keflex how far apart do you take the medication? Is it figured on 24 hours or 12 hours, ie: 3 times a day @ 12 hours: 8:00-1:00-6:00 PM ?

3 times a day would be in a 24 hour time period, so every 8 hours.
