Is furadantin safe for a 10 month old?

Posted at 11:14 PM on Oct 28, 2008 by margaret29, #8104
My 10 month old daughter had a UTI and a slight kidney infection and was hospitalized for 3 days with a fever over 104. She also had a VCUG and it came out that she has a second degree reflex. The doctor now put her on Furadantin until we see a specialist which is in a month. Is it ok for her to be taken furadantin for that long? Do you think that she's going to be on antibiotics for the rest of her childhood life? Does anyone have a situation like this? I don't even know what second degree reflex means and if that's bad. Before Furadantin she was on Omnief.
