Is there a normal life after Arimidex?

I am 72 years old and have been on Armidex for four years and cannot tolerate the side effects anymore. I have decided to quit taking the Armidex and just take my chances with the cancer returning. My question is - do these side effects ever go away and if so, how much time does it take to feel normal again?
