ITP, Back Surgery and Prednisone

I was taking 100mg of Prednisone before my back surgery back on July 6th and now I am down to 15mg starting today. It has been a trying time... I think especially since I suffer from chronic depression. I am wondering about side effects...the moon face..swelling around face..loss of muscle mass..do things return to normal? how long does it take? how do you deal with the feeling of heavy black clouds overhead? Also, has anyone out there taken Prednisone because having ITP and surgery? And how fast were you weaned off of it? Thank you, A. KS
