hi i've been taking 1.0mg a day klonopin for one year now, i just found out about its side effects and how hard it is to withdrawal . My question is, after one year, whats the best way to get out of this terrible drug. I was a heavy marijuana smoker since i was 13, now 32. Jan 07 i tried to quit weed cold turkey. It made me feel very anxious and i had panic. I looked for a doctor here in LA and he said i had panic disorder and gave me klonopin 1.5 a day. it help me with the panic, he told me i could keep smoking weed and i did it.Well finally, i did wanted to quit weed at first place so now i'm glad i'm smoking a little only at night(b4 i used to smoke every half hour or so) a lot. So i want to quit klonopin now, i didn't know about the side effects of this drug and was thinking i had health problems all this past year. Now i know it is from klonopin , this terrible drug. But i'm strong, i quit cigarettes after long time smoking and i'm down with weed too. Time to get rid of klonopin, please i want to know if 1.0 for one year is considered a big dose and if i will have trouble tapering off. Also if after i quit klonopin i will still have symptoms of withdrawal. My doctor told me to tapper off in six weeks, 1/4 a week. I'm afraid so i will appreciate some advise . thanks
