Lantus and constipation

I stated Lantus in 6 months ago. Ever since starting it, I have had a very bad problem with first bowel movement in the AM (were before all was great) I know people don't talking about moving their bowels, but we all do it. Anyway, it is like trying to pass a baseball through an eye of needle. With all the straining, I know I am not ding myself any good. I just want to see if anyone else has the constipation problem I have not had any weight gain nor rashes, if that helps anyone
