Lupron protecting Fertility

My friend has stage 2 breast cancer. I am helping her with some additional research. She was told Lupron is able to be taken prior to starting chemo and protects your ovaries from functioning but may induce menopause. This sounds like a contradiction does anyone know anything further? If at all possible she does not want to loose her ability to have children after this process is over. Please share your insight. In addition, once she starts radiation she will be on a 5 yr. pill called Tomaxathon.
