No longer wish to take Lisinopril

Posted at 12:43 PM on Jul 31, 2008 by rwhite1, #6969
I've taken lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide now together for about 8 months. I really want to stop taking the lisinopril. I don't like it and I think it is the cause of a lot of my physical ailments. How can I ween myself off of these pills without causing something major to happen?

Why do you want off of it? I mean what ailments. I also take it for high blood pressure and tho I have plenty of issues with other meds I've had no apparrent side effects from lisinopril

Don't listen to the other posts. They should have said "no apparent side effects YET". In answer to your question it depends what is causing the high blood pressure to begin with. There are natural remedies out there. You can research "Thyroid Blood Pressure" on google if you have no other reasons for why it is high. Possibly that's it. There's a simple test to know, just google "iodine deficiency test", costs $3.50 for a bottle to find out. There are natural blood pressure reducers out there, grape seed extract, peptide C12, magnesium is a big one - possibly you're deficient, many people are. Do some research and decide what's best for you.
