Paxil and hypertension

Posted at 9:25 PM on Sep 20, 2008 by julies, #7626
Does anyone know if Paxil directly causes or worsens hypertension? I have had manageable hypertension for many years, controlled with medication. Now that I am taking Paxil, my diastolic blood pressure is consistently high, with all of the symptoms increased blood pressure. If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it! Julie

I was on Paxil for only 2 weeks. Within a few days I started having the weirdest dreams, sweat, jerky of my limbs and now have hypertension. When I called my doctor, she took me off cold turkey. Then the hell really started. I'm an RN and soon realized these symptoms were not normal. Now I just wonder how long this will last? Linda
