Paxil CR prescribed for insomnia

Posted at 11:11 AM on Jul 23, 2007 by miepgies, #2698
I've been going to bed and then waking up 5 or 6 hours later not able to go back to sleep. I already take seroquel for sleep (100mg) and my doctor precribed Paxil CR (12.5 mg) to take in addition to the seroquel to help me sleep through the night. He told me it had a sedating effect and that it should help me on the first night of use. I'm not noticing much of a difference. Has anyone else out there been prescribed Paxil CR for insomnia? If so, does it work for you?

I take regular paxil for sleep and I don't think it helps me either. But it has helped with my mood. I also take trazadone to help me fall asleep. I was told by a friend who is a pharmacist that paxil is good because it raises the ceratone (spelling) level in your body and thats what helps you sleep.
