Pregnant @ time of vaccine...

Posted at 8:41 PM on Apr 16, 2009 by msterygirl, #9676
My 17 yr old daughter went in 4 a pregnancy test & was told it was negative so they (the Health Department) gave her the HPV vaccine. She took another pregnancy test a few days later & it was positive, does anyone know of any side effects it could have on her baby? the baby is only 1 month old and she was told everything would be fine, but every time that commercial comes on it states not for women who R pregnant! She had the vaccine the yr before also & after this 2nd one she got a call saying her pap came back abnormal & that she had some form of hpv witch she didn't the yr before.

Gardisil, from my understanding, doesn,t guarantee protection from all types of HPV. Google Gardisil. There should be a number to call for vaccine reports.VAERS. I,d ask the provider who gave vaccine, for a copy of vaccination and also ask what pregnancy test they used. Blood test or urine? I,d also request a copy of the pregnancy test with results. Who read the test if urine was used. Write a FOIA(freedom of information) letter to clinic requesting this information because your daughter was pregnant. Have your daughter sign it first and you as parent if needed, just in case. All rapid testing in offices have to be checked for control accuracy DAILY. I worked in a medical office. If controls aren,t done, accuracy is NOT guaranteed. That goes for all pregnancy tests, rapid strep test and urine test!! Gardisil is so new,who knows how safe it really is. Time will tell. Good luck to you as well as daughter and baby.
