Racing heart, breathless and GROUCHY!

Posted at 11:43 PM on Sep 06, 2009 by pfirestien, #10837
Did any one else feel like their heart was going to burst out of their chest and you couldn't get a deep breath. The headache was awful. Like my head was going to explode. My mood went from happy go lucky to pissed off and so angry I could hurt somebody. In just 3 days I decided that was enough and the only thing it could be was this drug because it was the only thing different I had done after being told I had Hypothyroidism.

my nutritionist put me on armour thyroid which is a natural formulation. i was on a very low dose, 30 mg a day but she told me that if it made me feel jumpy i should just cut the pills in half. i noticed that my heart would get all racy and jumpy after i took 30 mg but at 15 mg, it was fine. maybe you need to tinker with your dose

Thanks for your help my doctor started me on Synthroid 88mcg called after the first day and asked about it they said to cut it in half to 44mcg for a week then back to the full dose. I'm now redoing my bedding again because of the horrible night sweats. I'm just not sure it's worth all this I didn't feel bad before I went in for my pyhsical and now it's like my world is upside down.

How many days did it take for the heart palpatations to stop after you quit taking th synthroid. I have been off for 3 days and am still waiting to feel normal again. These palpatations are horrible and very scary!!! I am being followed by a cardiologist and heart monitored for one month to see if they go away just by being off t he synthroid!! How long will this go on??
