My mother was prescribed lasix yesterday after being hospital late Sunday evening with fluid on lungs. Some questions so I can familiarize myself with symtoms. 1) What are common symptoms of fluid on lungs and what do I look for. She was very weak and had swelling on ankles. 2) Will her potassium levels go down with this drug or how do I monitor correct potassium level she should be. 3) Told to weight in each morning and if there is a gain of 2 lbs. call doctor. Is this accurate or should I look for something else? Than k you for your review and I look forward to hearing from you. Also, so you are familiar with my mother's case- she is diabetic 2; has nerve damage in right lower leg and is going to Nova Care clinic for build up of strength. She is on several medications which she takes each day. Zocor, Metropolo?, Glycerbine (?spelling for diabetes), Hydraline (spelling?). Protonix, aspirin - 325 mg. Do these medications interact with/Lasix. Again, thank you
