Singulair and seizures

Posted at 10:22 AM on Jul 10, 2009 by beaverfan64, #10391
Anybody have a child that has been on Singulair long term (like 6 years) and now my child is having seizures. My son is 12 now but started taking Singulair when he was 6 for his asthma/allergies. Please help! Worried to death.

the real question here is why would a child be put on chronic medication at so early an age? allergies can change over time. some childhood allergies go away. but if a kid is put on medication, how will you know? these medications are powerful chemicals that really have no place in the human body. some people tolerate them better than others but side effects can develop suddenly even after many years now, i'm sure some doctor will put your son on anti-seizure medication instead of questioning the singulair why not test your child's allergies. see if they've changed; maybe he doesn't need the medication. or try other means- lots of modern allergies are caused by our lousy processed food, preservatives and additives in food. change his diet to whole, unprocessed organic foods and see if that doesn't make a difference my friend is now eating that way and all his allergies have gone. his 2 1/2 yr old son who eats that way has no allergies while his little friends, who eat crap, are always sick and allergic and on medication try diet first. better than being worried to death
