Sleepless nights for 3yr old?

We've been monitoring our son's behavior while on flovent to help prevent asthma attacks and very frequent bouts of croup. Seems like when we do 2 puffs at night his is up ALL night! He plays at 1am and then again at 4am and then he's up for the day at 6am! He only takes regular naps during the day as well. Anyone else notice sleep changes. This is just too bizarre for a little guy his size. We'd like to take him off, but don't know of anything else out there that is a good subsitute.
