stopping adderall and its side affects

Posted at 2:29 PM on Apr 16, 2008 by looking4answers, #5677
I have been taking 30mg of adderall for over 2 years. On 4/15 I was treated for other medical conditions that required me to stop taking adderall. Is it ok that my doctor advised me to stop taking it. If this is an addictive drug shouldn't I be weened off of it? And what are the side affects I should be aware of?

Adderall is not physically addictive, and there is no need to 'step-down' off of it. Adderall is taken on an 'as-needed' basis. It is not like an anti-depressant which normally requires a weening off period. You are fine to stop and start Adderall as you wish.
