Stopping Alesse

I recently figured out that all of my depressive periods in life could be linked directly to the times I was on Alesse. So I stoppes, and I've felt much better. However, about two weeks after the start of my last period, which is also two weeks after I stopped the pill, I experienced a mucousy discharge with a smear of red (blood) in it. This kind of freaked me out and I'd like to know if that was because I stopped the pill so recently. Can anyone help me out?
