Stopping Flomax

I am a female and have been on Flomax for over 3 years. I have lower back pain and muscle weakness. I have tried stopping Flomax 2x, but find it more difficult to urinate that before I started the medication. Has anyone else had this reaction and if you discontinued the med, how did go off? Thanks
