Stopping Neurontin

I thought maybe someone can answer this question for me. I have been reading the side effects of Neurontin and it really disturbs me. Especially the weight gain and dizziness. I've been on 300 mg for the past two weeks and I see a significant change in my weight. I also feel dizzy. I'm going to see my Doctor but I would like to stop the medication starting tonight. Does anyone know if there is going to be any symptoms for stopping the medication? I personally think it shouldn't since I haven't been taking it for a long period of time! I'd rather have the pain and the pins and needles, than to gain another pound, or get dizzy when I'm driving. Any suggestions would be so appreciated. Thank you
