Suffer or Relief?

I have hypothyroidism and am on Synthroid medication I also was cursed with acid reflux. I know that I am not supposed to take anything within two to four hours of taking the Synthroid. My question is say I'm having an acid reflux flair up (painful and very uncomfortable) if I have taken my Synthroid very recently then I shouldn't take an antacid or anything of the like so what can I do? Do I just tough it out and suffer or is there an alternative way to alleviate the pain and discomfort? Some kind of supplement or something that I could take?
