Posted at 9:58 PM on Jul 07, 2009 by tsluci, #10364
my kid takes singulair daily, however this weekend he broke out with a rash so I wanted to give him some benadryl and someone said no because he is on singulair. Is this a problem?

I am a grandma whose 4 year old grandson is on singulair. I know my daughter always calls her pharmacist to verify if which over the counter med is o.k. and dosage to give to him. I don't recall which ones are not good to give -- I would definitely call your pharmacist. I know once when he was with me I had a difficult time finding the correct cough med for him and my pharmacist was very good about assisting me with an appropriate one. Hope this is of some assistance. Pattia09@Yahoo.com

I actually talked to a pharmecist about this and you can take Benydral also. You can give Benydral in the mornings or mid day and give the singular before bedtime.

Rash is a side effect of Singulair. If a child begins developing rashes after starting Singulair it could be an adverse reaction.
