Time to stop ?

Posted at 7:15 AM on Sep 21, 2007 by ah207b, #3307
I have been taking bisoprolol fumarate for 8 years continuous. I was 30 years old when I started and now I am 38. I have only ever taken the 5mg dose. But is it time to stop ? My blood pressure (with medication) is typically 115/64 with a resting pulse around 56-64 beats per minute. I am 1.70 meters tall, weigh 61kg. I am a non-smoker and I only occasionally take alcohol. My diet is mediterranean (lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, fish etc) and my salt intake is low, Cholestreol also low. I take plenty of exercisee too. So I ask myself - do I need to continue with the medication ? It was originally prescribed to me after a series of waking headaches 8 years a go and my BP shot up to around 150/98. But, as I said, that was 8 years a go.
