All of my thyroid blood tests came back "within normal limits". However, when my (new) PCP examined my neck, she discovered my thyroid was enlarged; so she ordered an ultrasound of my neck/thyroid. The result was I have a "multinodular goiter". So, my doctor has put me on a very low, .25mcg, dose of Synthroid hoping it will "shrink" my goiter. I am experiencing several strange symptoms, probably due to the goiter. I wake myself up coughing at night, and although I am asthmatic, this is new to me. I also feel like liquids in particular get "stuck" in my throat, and my voice has gone hoarse and sometimes even gets "laryngitic". My doctor fears these are due to my enlarged goiter. If anyone has any feedback about this, I'd appreciate it.
