Vacation.........will Avaine stop period?

Hi...........I was prescribed Aviane 3 months ago................but did not start taking because of negative reviews...............I am 48 years old and was prescribed to regulate my periods.........My question is...........I am going on vacation in June.........I want to only take Aviane so I will not have a period during June 14-21...................any suggestions..............should I take a week of active pills just during that week? or should I start taking rx now to get used to it? Thanks for any answer..........Susie
