vytorin and back pain

Posted at 5:44 PM on May 18, 2008 by jamihepting, #6064
I stopped taking Vytorin one year ago due to severe upper back pain. The pain was intense stinging and burning. I still have flare ups with this pain almost daily if I raise my arms. I have tried massage, muscle relaxers, Aleve, a heating pad and nothing seems to work. Any suggestions on how to get this out of my system?

What did the doctor say? Has he used prednisone for your flare ups? Aleve probably did not work because it is a low dose NSAID. Ouch, perhaps you just have fibromyalgia and something like Lyrica may be good for you. Sorry about the pain! There are lots of prescription muscle relaxers out there and there might be something better out there for you. Hope a doctor can help you out.

I'd be more concerned about rhabdomylosis than fibromyalgia. Are you on any other meds for cholesterol? Many med combinations can cause a reaction that destroys muscle tissue and can cause deep muscle pain. If your urine is particularly dark, and if the pain continues, I would ask my doctor about it.
