Roy - what have you been diagnosed with? My father became very ill the end of April 2008.......high temperature/fever, 150-160 heart rate, extremely low blood pressure. We rushed him to emergency. He had an "infection" as they put it and was also diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation (afib). Put on antibiotics to take care of the infection and on heart medicine and coumadin (warfarin). 6 days later they sent him home. Taken to emergency this Monday, 6/2/2008 for the same symptons. He is at a different hospital and they have diagnosed him with pneumonia and "blood poisoning"...technical term Septicemia. Apparently the other hospital should have sent him home with continuing antibiotic treatment. Since they didn't and his system hadn't fully recovered, he was suseptible to bacteria and, therefore, is now back in the hospital. We also found out from this hospital that he should have been taking his coumadin at night instead of in the morning and he should have been getting his blood tests between 8-10AM and not in the morning. Very frustrating. He had a cough and mucas while in the hospital a month ago and still has it now. Any comments or experience with any of this would be welcome.
