Weight gain with Remeron

Posted at 3:14 PM on Oct 27, 2007 by rajdreamz777, #3685
Hi folks. I took Remeron in years past, and it lifted my depression with no sexual side-effects. Too, it gave me the coolest dreams that even frequently went into lucid-mode, i.e., I knew that I was dreaming and could therefore script my dreams and have a little fun! So I'd thought I'd really found something great. Thing is...I started gaining weight and/or eating more. I say "and/or" because I wasn't on the med long enough to attempt to deal with the weight gain (20 unflattering pounds). I just got turned off by the weight gain and stopped the med. Guess one might say I didn't give it a full chance. I'm thinking of trying the Big R again because my depression is ongoing, and I can't stand the other antidepressants: at least for me, their side-effects are intolerable. So...my question will be this: Can the weight-gain be controlled (say, by exercise and diligence in eating habits)? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Be well & God bless. Raj
