Weight gain with synthroid

Did you see an endocrinologist? Are you taking other meds that cause weight gain such as depakoate? You need labs done,thyroid functions to make sure the synthroid dose is adequate. Thyroid levels need frequent monitoring when starting synthroid. My thyroid was always overactive,now it seems underactive and i have gained 10 pounds. I see my endocrinologist every 6 months and have labs done prior to seeing him. I have an autoimmune disease. You,re due for TSH,T4,VIT. D level,GLUCOSE,LIPID PANEL. Ask if doc checked your parathyroid hormone levels also. Don,t be afraid to ask questions. Do the research and get facts. Good luck.
