Wellbutrin HCI (SR) vs Bupropion

My son has been on bupropion for about a year along with lithium, a mood stabilizer, xanax and some other along the way. I have tried to tell my doctor these are not working and he is Not bi-polor. So, I took him off everything except buproprion 2x daily and clonazepam as needed. He is doing better except his family doctor changed his bupropion to 200mg 2X daily and several days later he started having headaches and now is in server pain 24/7. Would switching him to wellbutin instead of the generic help. I have hear bupropion is NOT the same as Wellbrutin. It disolves quicker among other things. I see the doctor again tomorrow. Has anyone had this problem? He also has alot of troulbe sleeping at night and is up until at least 3am every day. Would switching him to the Brand Wellbrutrin help? Thanks!!
