they told me i had an inflammatory lung and gave me metronidazole is that what its for

I'm not too sure if it's used to help an inflammatory lung, but it is a type of antibiotic that's used to treat bacterial infections. I located the information on this website: http://www.drugs.com/metronidazole.html : )
