My 6 1/2 year old son is in la-la land with this medication. After only one dose his pupils are dialated, he appears to feel uneasy and he seems to not be able to function. He has completely lost his appetite and only wants to remain still. It is as if he is hallucinating but he does not know how to describe the feeling. I will not give him a drop more. Very, very bad for children!

My 6 yr. old son transformed...a few days after taking the medication he became extremely hyper. He was unable to contain himself and became nonresponsive. He completely changed even having behavior issues in school...which were almost non-existent prior to taking this medicine. I highly recommend parents donot administer this medicine to their children.

The Doctor prescribed this to my 2 1/2 month old son.
He was so different on this stuff. He didn't smile once on this medication, and he was just not his usual self. I stopped giving it to him right away. I thought something else was wrong.

I gave this to my 4 year old daughter and I don't even know where to start. My daughter was pretty sluggish the first two days but I thought it was because she did not feel good. She started feeling a little bit better so I stopped the medication. My daughter is a totally different person. She is so hyper I can not settle her down she is jumping off furniture, and I talk to her and it is like she can not hear me. Her eyes are dialated and she acts like she can not stand herself or her skin. My uncle works for the ER and I called him he said that she is having withdraws from the medication. That it is a family to sudifed and everyone responds different. I would be very careful before you give your children or yourself this medication.

Dizziness especially when rising quickly from a seated or lying position is common. Change positions slowly and be careful on stairs. Use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness.

This stuff is like kiddy-coke! Not something I would recommend for the children. With all the new information comming out about ephedrine, I am not sure I would feel comfy with an adult taking this much less a child.
Spaced, pupils like saucers, unable to sleep or going unconcious randomly, irritability, and can be addictive... yeah... what a huge step forward for science.
Now, how many meds do you have to take to take care of the side affects from taking this one? When does your pill bottle have to become a suitcase???

My two year old is in space land on this stuff. She also has lost her appetite which is HIGHLY unusual for her. She is awake for two hours and then falls back to sleep. She looks completely exhausted and out of it. I am going to Dr's tomorrow for an alternate med.

it seems to me that this should not be given to children. i think it is odd that the same perscription with the same dosage is given to both children and adults. i would get a second opinion or talk toyour pharmacist before giving your kids this medicine anymore, due to the fact that it could cause permanent damage.

My three year old is stoned out of his head on this stuff. It has not effected his cough at all, but he now falls asleep or "passes out" without notice. His eyes are dialated, he is "spacey" and is having nightmares and when awake, what I think are hallucinations. He has trouble with motor skills- even the simple things. We have stopped using it now and after 24 hours he is started to become a little normal. VERY unsettling.

About a half hour after I take one teaspoonful I feel like I am Drunk on wine! I giggle and slur and eventually pass out! The medicine works great however I wouldn't recommend working or driving after taking it.

I'm horrified that I ever gave this to my kids after taking some for a nagging cough myself last night. My scalp and skin are tingling, my eyes feel as if they're bulging out, I'm totally dehydrated with terrible cotton mouth but can't eat or drink because of loss of appetite and slight nausea, I feel paranoid, my body is exhausted but can't rest, nothing looks right (colors, faces). It's now been 8 hours....1tsp of Bromaxefed!! I can't believe the FDA approves the manufacturing and distribution of crap like this! Especially to our children! God only knows what is being approved for people with mental issues....no wonder they hear voices telling them to carry out unimaginable acts. THROW THE BOTTLE AWAY NOW!! And please get this off the market!
