I've been reading ALL the reviews on this website regarding Femcon FE and to be honest I haven't gained any weight, my mood swings are no crazier than usual, and I definitely haven't felt any sickness...but what I have felt, after only taking the pills for a Fin' week!!....is breakthrough bleeding! I can't believe this crap, I'm bleeding and my period isn't due for about 3 more weeks!! And I'm not talking a light little spot here and there, I am freakin' bleeding like my period is here! I've been off and on bc pills since I was 19 years old, I'm now 27...there are WAAAYY too many pills out there for me to stick with this sucker! I'm done!! Good luck ladies

I have been taking FEMCON for 8 months now...and for some reason I never put my weight gain of 8 pounds and the pill together. I noticed the gain after 3-4 month's and could do NOTHING to get it off. Its been to the point where I joined Jenny craig which works for everyone and work out, tried low carb......everything and never ever did a pound come off. I don't know what else to attribute it to . I had a blood test and it was normal......so no endocrine problems as a cause.
Anyway-- if anyone had this side effect as well, how long did it take when you go off of it to start losing some of the weight? I am at the end of my rope here with trying to even drop a single pound. It's impossible! I just stopped taking the pill 2 days ago, I am hoping I see some results!

I'm 31 years old & started taking FEMCON FE for ovarian cysts detected on an ultrasound 10 days ago which my RE now tells me due to my hormonal profile which came back could have possibly been my ovaries in fact finally ovulating. Little too late. Within the 1st few days of taking it I did notice a "big" change in my attitude towards others, particularly my boss, hubby & kids. I am no longer the patient & loving one but an emotional, irritable wreck. I cry for no good reason, my hair is falling out & somehow everything that I or anyone else does is wrong wrong wrong. I have road rage which is something I have NEVER experienced & I've generally been a nasty person in which I've been fully aware & feel horrible about. Now I remember why I've always refused birth control to regulate my cycles. YESTERDAY was the last night Femcon will ever enter my body. Good luck to the rest of you!

I am on the third pack of Femcon, switched from Ortho Tri-Cyclen because my periods were too long. I can't say I have any major side effects, no depression, no wackiness etc., One that I do have is breast tenderness, my boobs blew up like balloons and I do have major skin/chin problems that no dermatologist can help me with for the last few weeks. I couldn't figure it out what it was from but I think it might be from the pill. Never had any skin problems, acne and all of the sudden my chin breaks out badly, not pimples more like under the skin red bumps. Anyone with the similar problem???? HELP.

Hello everyone. After getting my period two weeks ago I have been bleeding for the past 5 days as well. I have tremendous breast tenderness as well. However, I have been on the pill for 15 months now. The spotting between periods has been going on for about 6 months now. I mentioned it to my primary dr about 4 months ago. long story short I have a cyst on my right ovary, and a complex cyst on my left ovary. Needless to say I will be having surgery on November 12th. First to remove the cysts, possibly the ovaries. If I can tell any one message this is it..."Listen to your bodies ladies!" You know your body better than anyone else. I originally went on the pill because I had polycystic ovarian syndrome and here I am getting ready to have cysts removed. I am not trying to scare anyone, but make sure the pros out weigh the cons while considering staying on this pill. I have to wear a pad everyday because I don't know when I am going to have breakthrough bleeding. This is very frustrating and I hope it will be resolved after surgery? Not sure if I will continue on birth control following surgery. I am 36 yrs old and I am at my wits end. When I heard about everyone being sensitive, or crying at the drop of a hat I have to say I was relieved. Maybe I am not crazy! Good Luck and please take care of your bodies! You are your best advocate. Thanks for listening.

I started Femcon 6 months ago after being dissatisfied with Loestrin 24 Fe. This pill has both pros and cons. My periods are lighter now (my reason for starting BC pills was because of heavy and painful periods). There is less cramping with Femcon as well but my periods lasts even longer now than before starting the pill. Last month I bleed for 16 days straight! Since this was the only time I bled for so long I decided to give the pill a few more months. I actually like the fact that since starting this pill my acne has cleared up completely and my mood is much better than before starting the pill (No mood swings around the time of period!) Another con though is that my sex drive as decreased and vaginal mucous has this weird thickness to it and it makes sex kind of uncomfortable! I never had such problems prior to starting Femcon Fe. I may be searching for a different pill or other options soon.

I have read a lot of these responses and here and have noticed a common thread among all responses. This may or may not help.

You need to give any new pill a full 3 months before judging it. Your body needs to stabilize with the new hormones that you are giving it. It generally takes about 3 cycles to do so. ANY pill, whether it is Femcon, Loestrin, Yaz, Yasmin, or any other will have the same side effects. So, for that matter, will Nuvaring or other hormonal based birth control methods.

I had problems with Femcon during the first month as well, just like I did with Yasmin. The solution to the problem is giving it a full three months before making your decision. Anything else, and you are simply not making an education decision. Good luck ladies!

l will let it be known that I'm a healthy 27 year old..very active, never suffered with depression, never had acne, no headaches, never had mood swings (unless someone was pissed me off :) ) NADA...just the 7 day periods with heavy bleeding the first couple days..no cramps though. With that being said.....I have been on Femcon for 1 month now..I'm actually finishing my first pack..i have 2 more pills to go. I can honestly say this pill is NO GOOD for me!! If anyone already suffers from any of the things i've listed above..DON'T TAKE THIS PILL!! The first week on the pill was great..no problems. Exactly on day 10 of the pill..I had break thru bleeding that lasted the rest of the month. It was the nasty brown kind with an occasional red. I started to notice that EVERYDAY around 4:45pm I would become so furious over nothing..i mean NOTHING..go in my room slam the door shut..then turn around and cry because I knew I had nothing to be mad at. I became very depressed. My skin starting breaking out, but just no only on my face..all over my body. Really gross. Im now taking the brown pills and I have really bad night sweats. Horrible. These pills also made me very constipated. My sex drive went down hill too. HOWEVER, the PRO to these pills are I haven't gained any weight, haven't lost any hair (that i know of) and my period is sooooo light...still about the 5-7 days, BUT the cramps are almost unbearable and last for 3 days. I'm whiching in 2 days to Loestrin24 FE. If anyone is experiencing similar symptoms and looking for a new pill, let me know. I will be more than willing to share my experience with Loestrin also.

Hello. I am am going through some major hair loss. I started the pills three weeks ago and i can honestly say that I have lost more hair in the past couple of weeks than i have ever lost in my entire life. I am 22 and I have no family line of baldness. I was on YAZ and this never happened. I switched to FEMCON Fe because I had breakthrough bleeding. Now not only am I having an almost nervous break but my face is breaking out. Something that I never really experienced with YAZ. Can anyone tell me if the hair will grow back?

Thanks

I am 26 yrs old and have had my period since August 30, I am currently still bleeding, I went to my doctor who told me to start taking Femcon Fe. I started today took my first one in the morning and I was fine, mind you my doctor told me to take 1 pill 3x a day. So here I am with a horrible headache, nausea and I just feel so tired. I took Yasmin before and it made me sick as well. I am tired of taking these pills from hell that make you sick and not have a normal life. I still don't have a normal sex life being that I have bleed for so long me and my husband don't have that intimate relationship and I don't know what to do anymore, I feel so lost and confused. Please any advice.

I have been taking Femcon FE for almost 3 months and I am glad to say I am not going insane. Up until last night, when I read every posting on this site I truly thought I, whom never suffers from a moment of being irrational thought I would go and see a doctor. Almost every feeling of hatred, depression and irritability that I had been feeling of late (the last two months) was described exactly here. Whew. I saw a posting that one person believed that the pharmaceutical companies actually gave kickbacks to the physicians. Well, as a former member of the woman's health care facility here in my town, it is true. Nice dinners, bottles of this and that, new cars, vacations and so on... Ortho McNeil pharmacies (No, I don't work for them) is the ony company, that it seems to me, that can say that side effects are not the norm. Warner Chilcott, the makers of FemCon FE have many women up in arms over the Loestrin 24FE and FemCon side effects. I paid no mind to this but the more and more I am exepriencing these effects and are hearing of them the more and more I am believing that perhaps these brands should come come with a warning on the side of the box on a big white label that says,"May ruin all of your relationships, may cause you to unnecessarily check yourself into a nuthouse and may cause severe mind and mood altering effects. Please buy stock in a sanitary napkin company before using."
Now the first month was great but for the past 2 1/2 months I have been bleeding every eight days. Now this is not "normal bleeding" but clots. So horrible. Oh, were you thinking of having a lovely romantic dinner? Muhahah, with Warner Chilcott FemCon Your breath will be great but pregnancy will never come between you and... oh wait, you are going to have your period forever...

Anyone have room for my wife. I have had enough. She is sometimes pleasant but most of the time a real bitch. She has not connected the dots between the Femcon and her horrible mood swings. Sex was scarce enough but now I have almost forgotten why I liked it so much. PLEASE HELP! If she stopped today how long until I get her back?
(fyi: I am signed in under my wife's account. She will be so proud of me. I hope I survive! Pray for me please.)

I was just about to pop my first pill to stop my heavy bleeding but decided to do some research where I found this site.

I put the pill back in it's packet. I would rather have heavy periods for 3 days once a month than be an emotional wreck.

Thanks for all the info ladies.

Has anyone been LOOSING their HAIR on this pill. My daughter is taking to regulate her periods and so far she has turn from a sweet layed back princess to a hateful unbearable wench!!!! She has had all of the symptoms I'm reading about PLUS one!!!! She has been LOOSING her HAIR and its BREAKING OFF along the hairline making it look like someone is cutting it off and this, as a 14 yr teenager, is worse (for her) than all the other symptoms put together!!!! Of course, she's not affected by her thinking the world is coming to an end and arguing about everything she can and thinking I'm the dumbest person in the world!!! Wait! You think that has something to do with her age? lol In all seriousness if anyone is experiencing hair loss tell me about it. I'd like to make sure it is the medicine. Thanks!

I haven't taken the pill in 25 years. I'm now 42, having heavy periods every 2 weeks with heavy clotting for the last 8 months now. My husband and my kids say I'm an emotional nightmare (which I don't see at all). I have called the nurse complaining about constant leg cramping/charlie horse, but I keep getting the same response that it's just a potassium/calcium deficiency. So now what. I'm now starting my 2nd pack taking it twice a day to help control the bleeding. I do have to say that this time around, my period is lighter and cramps don't seem to be as bad. I haven't noticed any weight gain since the pill, but again, my family complains that I'm extremely edgy, and sensitive.

I, do, however, think that all medications attack each person in a different way. Good luck. Sign: PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!!!!

This is my first pack of femcon, and 2nd week in, I started bleeding. I also am a personal trainer, so working out and eating healthy are my daily routine. What is not a daily routine, is gaining a pound every day!!!!!!! I weigh myself every morning to be shocked that femcon has put on 3 lbs already. I hate it, and am going back to my old pill Yasmin. Femcon is great if you want to get fat!

I have been taking Femcon for 10 days and I am already a wreck! I have been having crazy emotional outbursts and feeling like my husband doesn't love me anymore. I cried all night last night and now I'm bleeding again. I only had 2 days were I wasn't bleeding. I feel extremely depressed. The only reason I went on femcon was because my doctor wanted my cists to go away so I could try to get pregnant. This is horrible I have gained some weight and feel so tired. I don't ever feel like doing anything. Does anybody know if I stop right now if my body will freak out on me? This pill is hell

I've been on Femcon for 5 months now and the only side effect I have is oversensitivity. I cry at the drop of a dime and it seems as if EVERYTHING hurts my dam feelings, lol. I have actually lost 10lbs (over a five month period) since taking this pill. I too like many other new users have never taken any type of birth control and I'm 31 years old. I guess it just depends on the individual. I HIGHLY recommend this pill...definitely for first time users. I love it!

Wow. i thought i was the only one. I began my period 3 weeks ago...i began the pill the first Sunday after my period as the doctor prescribed. My period stopped after 5/ 6 days as normal. Then after taking the pill daily i began to spot exactly a week after me period stopped. Im just beginning the first brown pill today and im still bleeding! A few days ago i noticed these strange dark clumps that i found to be pretty weird. Other than that i haven't had any nausea. But i did have some horrible stomach pains the next day after some good night's sex with my boyfriend. It was very intense pains.I also been very emotional as well, crying and don't even know why im srying most of the time. I have been bleeding for about two weeks non stop now. and me and my boyfriend doesn't like it, especially since we are very sexually active. I haven't taken the pill for a month yet, but im waiting to see what happens after a month or two.....

This pill is HORRID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im only 15 and have just taked the first bown pill on the first pack and can stand it any longer. i started taking it because my periods were 7 weeks apart (no complaint there) and i had extremely heavy bleeding and incapacitating pain for two days then it would stop and i barly bled at all, so i was skeptical on weather to take it all because i had a painkiller that helps but i decided to do it anyways, i thought it might help, WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! after two weeks i started bleeding heavier than ever, if that seemed possible, and horrible pain EVERY DAY. i have been bleeding for over two weeks now and with my busy schedule, its not working out. Now that i have read about it gets better after three packs, im thinking about continuing, but i don't know if its worth it, my life has turned into a living nightmare!!!!!! I just hope this continuous bleeding stops cause after over two weeks this is ridiculous. The medication i have to take for the pain is Loritab, hydrocodone, and its nerve-wracking because its a narcotic pain-killer, so i only take half of one. I got it for my ovarian cists that i had twice, and they said i could use it for this. The cists is another reason i am taking femcon Fe, but its CRAP!!!!!

I started FEMCON FE about 3 weeks ago because I had been bleeding heavy for 6 straight weeks. My doctor pulled me from my previous birth control, Ortho Tri-Cyclen and put me on FEMCON to stop the bleeding. Surely enough 3 days later it stopped, however, I have experienced headaches, dizziness, a lack of appetite, fatigue and a very low sex drive over these last 3 weeks. Not to mention, I had breakthrough bleeding this week for 3 days. I am going to continue taking these for another month and report back, but right now, I am not too content with this birth control.

I started taking this about 4 weeks ago, so I'm on the beginning of the brown "inactive" pills. I thought it was great at first because I usually have spotting every other week or so, and it was totally gone. Then as soon as this first day hit without taking a pill, I feel like I have the flu or something. My back hurts, I have the worst cramps, and in general I just feel like crap. And what's worse is that I just started having this brownish/red liquidy discharge that is not what my normal period is like! I'm not sure if I started or not. I was on Trivora 28 for 9 years before this and it was great - I didn't have any problems until this year when I started spotting. Let's just hope it's just my body getting used to this! **Also for anyone reading this, please just remember that a lot of women taking this are doing great, because if you were fine you wouldn't be on here posting to begin with!

I have bad period (terrible cramps, heavy bleeding,...) so I have been on contraceptive since I was 19 (now 31).
Well, in Feb my doctor put me on Femcon fe. It is the worse I ever had. Pain the stomach every single day, heart burn, nausea (I really believed that I had ulcer or cancer), pelvic pain, headache, dizziness, low blood pressure and the more serious: depression. I was so depressed that I stopped to take the pill in May (not because I know it was my problem just out of lost of interest). Of course I felt better but I had a bad period in June so I go ahead and refill my prescription. And I got sicker, I had to go the ER for dizziness and low blood pressure (90/60). I could not sleep and I was tired all the time. I became so depressed that I have to go the bathroom at work to cry, my 5 old daughter and my husband avoided me in the evening when I got home from work. I lost interest in sex and was suicidal. My PcP referred me to a Psychiatrist
Earlier this month I discovered this website in a search and I finally found out that was the pill.
I stop the pill and I am doing fine. No pain, No depression, I get my life back.
This pill to drive a woman crazy. I was about to loss my family.

I have been on birth control pills for 9 years now, I have tried them all and have never had any serious side effects from the pill in all my years on it. I switched to Femcon FE, and 45 minutes after taking my first pill I was getting sick and had horrible back and stomach cramps. The next morning I was sicker then ever and my breast were sore. I refused to take another Femcon FE, and I am now for the first time in 9 years going to take the month off from the pill, and start new after my period on a pill that will not make me sick. Women beware of this pill, it WILL make you sick.

i switched to femcon from nuvaring because i had terrible night sweats on nuvaring. however, i have encountered some really annoying side effects of femcon. while the night sweats are much milder, i started bleeding about a week after starting it and have not stopped. its been 12 days now and i am going crazy! i spoke with my physician and she instructed me to take the pill twice a day for a few days to stop the bleeding, but no luck. i am also having a lot of bloating. i don't think i'll put up with this for much longer. any other suggestions for better alternatives?

I decided to take come off my Nuvaring and try another birth control method and my doctor gave me a few samples of Femcon to try and I asked would this make me feel crazy and he assured me it would not. What a bunch of crap. I took it for the first month and had no problems but the second month I became stressed to no end, gained like 5 pounds and had more acne than I already had. And not to mention that I began bleeding in the third week of pills and has not stopped for 11 days after it began. I cannot stand it and decided to quit this brand and got a prescription for Yaz for next month, hopefully this will work out better and for being more expensive than Femcon I am expecting a better result. Anyone thinking of Femcon I recommend not taking it!

I just started my second month of Femcon FE. I first started taking it when I moved back up to college for my third year. I was so excited and as soon as I got here I was more depressed than I had ever been. All I did was lay in bed with severe headaches, stomach and lower pack pains. My entire body hurt. I cried everyday for no reason at all and snapped at people for reason. My acne flared up horribly and Im still getting pimples and splotches all over my body (back, chest, arms, legs) places Ive never gotten them before. I started taking it bc my periods were so bad. My period was the only thing it really helped. It was very light and I hardly had any cramps. But when I started taking the hormone pills last week...everything started up again and Im totally depressed. Im glad Im not the only one who feels this way.

***IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON STARTING FEMCON FE PLEASE READ THIS FIRST***
I am 31 years old and have been on contraceptives for 15 years. I have endometriosis and have very bad periods. In the past I have taken several different brands of the pill and have had no side effects, aside from a very occasional migrane, but they have not controlled my pain/periods...so we tried femcon fe. I stopped taking it today after three months when i realized that the horrible things i have been going through match up with what all of the other ladies are saying here. The first day i had such pain in my breasts that my bra itself almost brought me to tears, then came the nausea. I actually took three pregnancy tests because i was sick at the same time everyday. I started vomiting with painful abdominal cramping off and on and not putting two and two together i was about to go and have a GI thinking it was an ulcer or worse! then i started to notice the weight gain, skin issues - not pimples but splotches, Then came the depression, rage and mental cloudiness. I started having trouble concentrating or even listening, was experiencing horrible anxiety to the point of near rage, and even having some trouble slurring my words and having significant "blank outs" where i couldn't find my words or remember things. I was depressed enough to consider psychiatric help/meds...this is NOT me!! Insomnia, crazy vivid dreams and nightmares, trembling, irrational fears and reactions...these are serious side effects that were doing nothing but getting worse. Today i got a migrane and could not stop vomiting, that is when i sat in fear that there was something terribly wrong with me and it hit me...THAT DAMNED PILL!!! I am not kidding, i really thought that i was deathly ill. stomach cancer?, a stroke? i thought, what the hell is going on here?!? That's when i found this site and thanks to you ladies i am no longer afraid that i am crazy or going to die! immediately, i called my OB who has advised me not to take another femcon, obviously, and said that everyone reacts differently and this is not something that will "level out." If you are having these issues CALL YOUR DOCTOR!!! Please don't let yourself get to the point of total misery that I stupidly did...there are HUNDREDS of pills out there that will not do this to you!!! I wish i would have realized this sooner i thought it was all coincidental having been on so many different pills and never having even a tiny pimple of a side effect. Please do you research and please don't continue taking this pill if you are having problems with it...it is not for everyone and an irregular period is nothing compared to the sheer hell i have been going through to have 10% less cramps and a one day shorted period!!

I posted a couple weeks ago that I was not having any side effects other than severe depression. I have more to report. I developed such terrible acid refluxe, that I literally could not EAT. If I ate lunch, I would not be able to eat dinner as the acid was literally coming up my throat, continuously and NOTHING I took helped.

The only good thing i noticed was I had more lubrication (I had none before) and it upped my libido some. You have to understand that I am pre-menopausal though so my hormones were very low to begin with.

I have done much research on this, since I was on Loesterin before this and did not have the depression, I wondered what the difference in the pills was.
Loestrin has more progesterone and a little less estrogen. Fem Con has a little more estrogen but LESS progesterone than loestrin.Ok, so if we're ALL going skitzo nuts on Fem con, maybe it's because there is not enough progesterone to balance it out? That would also explain the weight gain. Too much estrogen vs too little progesterone. I am going to try some progesterone cream at night to see if that helps. I don't know why they put only .4 mg of progesterone in a pill that has more estrogen when loestrin had 1 mg.

We'll see what happens.

I have recently started the first pack of Femcon, I am on my 2nd week and just started spotting today, I have experienced EXTREME weight LOSS. I have lost seven lbs in 2 weeks. I exercise regularly but have never had results like this. I have zero appetite and horrid cramping in my lower back and abdomen. The weight loss worries me as do the bad cramps. We aren't talking "ouch thats uncomfortable", its more like I think I might die if these cramps don't subside NOW! I have no change in libido or vivid dreams. But I read on one of the other post a lady said feeling like she is seeing things out of the corner of her eyes...when I read that I thought Thank god I'm not going crazy, someone else has the same side effect. I am going to stick it out but in my opinion this is MUCH better than that awful NuvaRing where I was severely depressed and exhausted!

I'm 17 years old, and I have been taking Femcon Fe for three months. I was beginning to get worried that I was becoming bi-polar my mood swings are so bad! I cry at least once a week for no reason and I snap at people all the time. One day I even cried all night long! I also feel tired and gained 5 pounds but my circulation is a lot better than it used to be. My period is considerably lighter too. Even still the mood swings are unbearable and I want to get off the pill A.S.A.P, but I'm scared that I will have some weird withdrawals. Can anybody tell me how it was when they got off.

I was on Femcon for the past few months, and I recently went off of it because I just couldn't take it anymore. I always felt like I was tired, it regulated my period, but did not help with the pain which was the reason I was taking it in the first place. I constantly felt like I could not see straight, I have had the feeling of my mind not really being in the right place. And thats the least of my problems...I was severely depressed. I did not want to do anything, I was constantly fighting, getting anxious, always crying (for no reason at all), chest pain, paranoid, and so much more. I couldn't take it anymore. I have been off of it for only a few days, and already I feel more relaxed, and happier. Everybody reacts differently, but clearly hormones were not for me...especially this one!

I've been on the pill for a couple months without much of a problem. I initially started taking Femcon, along with an antibiotic (for acne) which caused me to contract a severe yeast infection. I then immediately stopped taking the antibiotic thinking that the problem would be solved. However, a couple months later new symptoms had arised. I found myself having painful cramps in the abdominal area, foul cloudly smelling urine, light brownish spotting, light white milky discharge, and slight itch/discomfort. I used an over the counter yeast infection kit on two separate occasions which seemed to be unresponsive. Are my symptoms normal or a possibility due to taking the Femcon? Does it sound like I have more of a UTI or a yeast infection? I don't have insurance so It's very difficult to run back and fourth to a doctor. Has anyone tried the over the counter yeast and UTI tests?

HEY EVERYBODY, IVE BEEN ON FEMCON FE FOR THE PAST 6MNTHS AND I HATE IT. MOST OF THE SYMPTOMS ALL YOU LADIES HAVE, I HAVE HAD AND DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE IT COULD BE THE PILL: WEIGHT GAIN, DIZZINESS, LEG CRAMPS, GROWTH AND TENDERNESS OF THE BREAST, NO SEX DRIVE, ACHNE, AND THE WORST OF ALL AND THAT WORRIES ME THE MOST IS THE GREAT AMOUNT OF HAIR LOSS IM EXPERIENCING!!! IM 22 AND FEEL THAT I SHOULDN'T BE HAVING THIS PROBLEM. IM JUST WONDERING IF ANY OF YOU HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND IF YOU HAVE WHEN YOU GOT OFF THE PILL, DID YOUR HAIR COME BACK? YOUR REPLY IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

I have been on Fem Con for 2 weeks.. I have no side effects that I know of except depression. I don't want anything to do with anybody, I don't want to DO anything, I want to cry all the time and my life is better than it has ever been. I have noticed nothing else but this has been bad enough.

The first few days I think I was a little hungrier than normal but I think that has tapered off. I am on them for menopausal symptoms, regulating periods,
ceasing painful ovulations.

I am going to stick it out as long as I can because my symptoms are HORRIBLE without something, pain, pain bleeding, more bleeding, bloating.. at least with this, I am only depressed.. If I live THROUGH this maybe I'll be ok...MAN!! The things we have to deal with.

I am switching back to my old birth control yaz after being on femcon for 2 months. I have gained a significant amount of weight and that right there is a big issue. I don't know why doctors are so pushy with this pill. I told my doctor when he prescribed it to me 2 months ago that i would rather go back on my old pill (yaz) and he said that he would like me to try this one out. I feel like there is some conspiracy with this pill. I hate it. i am so done with it as soon as i possibly can.

I am reading all of these terrible side effects from Femcon and I cannot believe it. I have been on Femcon for two years and have had absolutely no problems. The only reason I switched to Femcon was because I was on the patch and kept having problems with it coming off (swimming) so I called my doctors office from out of town and they called in Femcon to the pharmacy. I have never had any problems with my period, even before I started on the pill. When I was younger I had some minor cramps, but that was it. I don't doubt that these problems that all of you girls have had are awful, but it looks like if you have any pre-existing problems from your cycle, that it could make it worse; but if you do not have any problems, this pill may work with no side effects.

I have been taking Femcon Fe for almost a year. I really didn't notice any bad side effects, except one. My hair started falling out during my third pack. I guess I didn't realize that it may have been from this, until my husband mentioned it. For those of you that had this same problem, once you stopped taking the Femcon, did your hair grow back??? I am planning to call my doc and switch back to my old BC.

i am almost done with my second pack of Femcon Fe, i have 3 days left of active pills. I started my first pack the day of my period, then for a whole month i bled continuously. Only when i was done with the brown pills for the first pack did it stop. I started my second & for two weeks was period free, then for the 3rd week i started to bleed again. I know they say that your period won't regulate til the third pack, but come on i want a break here. Not only have i had a VERY long period i also cramp badly in my lower pelvic area after each meal & i mean every single time i eat even if it is only a cracker or something. I always feel sick to my stomach too. My breasts have been continuously terribly sore. My breasts have also increased in size dramatically, a whole cup size I was a 36 c now i am a 36 d. I don't have signifigant weight gain anywhere else either. I have headaches & my heart seems to flutter more often too. I talked to my doctor & she told me to just stick it out for a little while, she said that everything will become more regulated after the third pack. I am just wondering if anyone else had these kinds of symptoms with this pill 7 does everything eventually work itself out?

My new Dr. put me on Femcon to alleviate extremely painful cramps and very heavy bleeding. I am in the 2nd month of taking it, and am experiencing many of the symptoms mentioned here. Extremely painful, swollen breasts, crazy insomnia for days and days, depression, leg muscle spasms, headaches, acne and weight gain. But flow is lighter and the cramps are mild. Trade-off worth it? Not at this point. But I'll go thru the 3rd month to see if things improve. Yikes.

OMG!! I am so glad I found this site!! I have been taking Fem Con now for about 10 days and have gained 5 pounds! My face is patchy. My head is killing me and I can't get a good night's sleep. This pill is the devil! I have been bleeding constantly for the past 10 days with no sign of letting up, and don't get my started on my racing heart beat. If a doctor offers this to you--- get a new doctor!!!

Well now it all makes sense! I am just finishing my 2nd week on Femcon FE and I couldn't understand why my breasts hurt so much...now I get it! I was on the depo shot for 2 years and LOVED it, no migraines, no periods...nothing. But because of my age and family history of osteoporosis I had to go off of it. Another doctor in my doctor's practice put me on the femcon because after not having my period for 2 years I got it really bad twice for a week in 3 weeks time. I can't go back on Yasmin because of the migraines, however besides the tenderness issue (which sucks if you have to run/walk fast anywhere), and I'm convinced weight gain, all of the sudden nothing fits. I'm not having the bleeding everyone else seems to be. But when I go for my annual in a week, I am going to definitely ask for something else after being on BC for the last 12 years this has to be the worst.

I've been in different kinds of b/c pills. Femcon is my 6th b/c...and Femcon so far is working for me...i been taking it for 5 months now...it was rough on the first 3 months, breast pain and a little bit of acne on the 1st month, long periods on the 2nd and 3rd month, but on the 4th month it was totally OK...no nausea all the time...my ob-gyn gave me a nausea pill that works really good...i take Femcon at 8pm together with the nausea pill...give your body a little time to adjust on your b/c but if it's not changing then it's not the pill for you.

I started taking Femcon right after I had my left ovary removed and I had found out i had endometriosis. I also was very nauseous, fatigued did not have the ebergy to do anything. Another one of the effects I had after taking for about 3 months I started loosing my hair in wads at a time..I quit taking the pills after I bled 12 days straight and on average at the most is 3-4 days. This pill made me feel very depressed and it was hard to lose weight. Now that I have been off Femcon my attitude has improved and I am back on my work out regimen but my hair is still falling out.

i haven't had any experiences with acne before the pill, and im hoping i don't get any either.
my period is a lot lighter than it was before the pill also, but these side effects are killing me! i think im going to stick it out for 3 months and see if things get better..
