I'm 35 and I've have had mild asthma since I was about 10 year old. At times I've been able to go weeks without needing to take anything, then stress, envirnoment triggers etc fire it up. I started taking advair 100/50 a couple of years back, and right now my breathing feels just about the worst it ever has. Without the advair I feel an uncomfortable tightness that I've never had before, a whole lot worse that the wheezing. Over the past couple of years I've lacked energy, been a lot more anxious and I've been warned of potential heart issues. I have a very healthy lifestyle and I assumed I was just getting older and more fragile...after reading these posts I'm seeing a possible connection.
Like some other people have said I sometimes feel like something is stuck in my throat / top of my lungs, it almost feels like phlegm but I can't cough it up.
I've stopped the advair for 3 days as of today, so far the tightness is managable, and the rescue inhaler is at hand (although I haven't had to use it yet). I'm hoping I can get back to previous drug free times.

I have been on Advair since 2004. Like most of you, it has done wonders for my asthma. I had symptom free days and had fewer and fewer attacks. The bonus for me is that I dropped a lot of weight and felt even better. Advair was a wonder drug for me.
However, as of late, I have been experiencing anxiety, dizziness and over all irritability. Thinking I was developing some kind of health condition, I went to the Doctor. I had the tests and the results concluded that I was a healthy 38 year old male.
It was only after I Googled Advair side effects that I stumbled upon this thread. I hope my contribution helped. I am getting off Advair.

I started taking advair 3 days ago when I had bronchial spasms and started having horrendous leg and foot cramps. I googled the two symptoms along with the new medication and came across this site. I am relieved that I am not the only one surprised by the side effects but now wonder if I should continue on my new breathing regimen or cut the advair and just use the xopenex and singulair. Anyone else cut back without major asthma return?
