I had a case of acute bronchitis and doctor prescribed Azithromycin (antibiotic) and something new, Advair. I took both medications, and, I have had several prescriptions for that antibiotics over the years, never a problem. But, on the morning of day 2, woke up, 30 minutes later and my legs and arms covered in hives. I never ever had an allergic reaction in my life, so I immediately expected it was the Advair. Went back to the doctor, who then took me off the advair. At that point, he gave me Xyzal, for 5 days, which helped subdue any more hives. After the Xyzal ended, guess what--the hives have returned, but in their former glory, but they returned nevertheless---is it possible that there is some residency period in the body for the Advair agent? I took it only for one day, but this is frightening.

I am a 44 year old male. I was on Advair for 7 years. I had Cataract surgery at 42 in both eyes. I was just diagnosed with Osteoporosis in my lumbar spine and osteopenia in my legs. Has anyone has these side effects? And has anyone been able to prove a link to Advair and these side effects? Please email me at ****** and thank you in advance.

I am 34 years old and was prescribed Advair about two years ago. I have had minor asthma issues over the years but nothing major. So the doctor gave me an inhaler. Then one winter I get sick and started going through the inhaler in about a month, so he prescribed Advair.
To back up I had lower back surgery for a bulged disc. So I had a lot of pain and was taking vicodin. Six months after surgery my back started feeling better than it had for a long time. I was able to exercise and get by with one vicodin in the morning. This went on for about a year. The pain was stable for the most part, but would increase every now and then.
Now enters the Advair. When I first started taking it I felt a little weird but it made my breathing a lot better. After a little while I would forget to take it or just feel like I didn't need it. But I could not stop taking it because my breathing got to bad without it. Over time my pain was getting worse and worse. I ended up being put on time release morphine because we thought the back pain was increasing. Then after being on morphine it seemed like I was always sick. I have been to the hospital twice for breathing and lung infections. I thought my back pain was turning into sciatica!!!! All along it is this F@#$ ADVAIR!!!! I have had a super short temper, daily head ache's,depression, HORRIBLE PAIN in my legs and back. I am so glad I found this site. ADVAIR IS EVIL!!!!! I have stopped taking it for two days now. I really need help from anyone who has info about quitting it. PLEASE CONTACT ME. Thanks : )

I've always had problems with leg cramps but now, since I've started taking Advair, every muscle in my body cramps -- BADLY. So I'm done, I'm going to call the doctor Monday a.m. & tell him I've stopped the medication. I just thought it was a fluke and I was having a bad time (have done that), but since getting on here and seeing that other people have had this problem, I'm sure it's the Advair. Occassionally I've forgotten a dose & the cramps have gotten better. So now I'm putting 2/2 together. As much as Advair has helped my cough, it's put me in so much pain I can't get one hrs. sleep before I have to jump out of bed and try walking a cramp out, during the day my back, arms, hands, chest, stomach muscles are all cramping painfully while I'm trying to work.
