Advair HFA and omg

OMG!! I thought I was losing my mind untiil I read a post here with my symptoms. Sensations of heat and cold at the same time. Very cold and body temp below 97 degrees. Have been on Advair 250/50 for about 2 years. Shortly afterwards, started having low thyroid and hard to maintain weight. Used to be on Albuteral, Atrovent and Pulmocort. Have emphysema along with asthma component. It is hard to breathe for about 30 min after taking Advair. Want to go back to my old meds, or at least try something different like Foradil, maybe.

OMG, I am so glad that I found this site. The Dr. Has me taking Advair for about a year.

I am a 27 y/o Female and I quit smoking about two years ago. I thought my breathing and sense of taste would come back but after a while it didn't. I went to my doctor last year to complain about chest congestion, runny nose, all that good stuff. He said I could have some sort of fibrosis of the lung and sent me for an xray and when it came back he said I had little bronchitis and asthma. I have never had asthma and only one member of my family has it. I assume I got this because I am a former smoker.

He started me on the advair and at first it really helped. Then I ran out and couldn't afford it for about three months. Basically the whole summer. I went to see him for a follow up and he gave me two more samples. I started back on it for the past week and I feel worse. Last night, I though I was going to die and all I kept thinking was that I am too young to die. I had a racey heartbeat and a terrible taste in my mouth that only elevated my heart beat and anxiety. Finally I calmed down but I thought I was going to die in my sleep. I am so scared. I can hear the tick in my chest, you know that sound, it sounds like there is a wind up toy in there.

I don't know if that's the bronchitis again. But it wasn't there before the advair. I think it's creating mucus in my chest. The Dr. said that if any mucus came to let him know. I am going to try to get in to see him, I don't want to take advair again. I just don't know what else to do. I am terrified and though I lost weight for the Cholesterol, my stomach is not going away, I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

OMG! I was prescribed Advair for Bronchitis and my belly starting swelling. I realized that since I started taking it I have become pregnant! I'm a male also!!!

This is ridiculous! Come on ppl, Advair is not the cause of all of the ridiculous symptoms that people are reporting here. It is just pathetic what a bunch of hypochondriacs (sp?) will spew on forums such as this. Get real ppl, if this was the case, there would be absolutely no way it would be on the market. Not a chance!

OMG...I have been on Advair for 5 years and I am awed at your posts. I have been blaming most of my symptoms and weight gain on my weight. I knew that I was having the hoarseness and continuous sinus drip, but I did not realize it was from the Advair. I just thought my allergies were getting worse. I feel so stupid.

I have the thinning of the skin and bruising. A simple touch of my arms and the skin peels and bleeds. I have read and re-read these posts and the symptoms all of you have I have and have had doctors tell me, they have no idea what is causing the symptoms. What an eye-opener. Thank you.

I am so grateful that I have discovered this site. I have been off Advair for the past two weeks, just b/c I needed a refill RX, and couldn't get in to see my doctor, but I am a little concerned now, that I hear I should have weaned myself gently off. Guess it is too late now.
