I used Ambien 2-3 days per week for the past few months. I just woke up after having several vivid/complicated nightmares. Each nightmare was worse than the one before. The last nightmare woke me up. I was being framed for murder of a white woman after a minor traffic accident (I'm a black man). I'm very bothered by this and don't want to sleep now, fearing more nightmares. This has happened after I slept without taking Ambien.

I have had one episode of sleep-walking, where I ate the meal that I had prepared for lunch the next day.

I have been taking ambien for about five years. I have experimented with 5mg, 10mg and ambien CR, and mixing small doses (5mg or less) with one Advil PM. Mixing the two worked very well for a while. All I want is to feel rested and sharp during the day. I have been known to cook elaborate meals and make a MESS in the kitchen only to wake up the next morning with chicken burrito all over my bed with me. I have also sent emails and made calls I don't remember. I also... and this is the worst... did some online shopping and bid on many EBAY items that I had no memory of. When you wake up and your credit card is laying next to your computer on the bed... your in big trouble.

I was really relieved to read another posting from a woman who is also experiencing sexual side effects from Ambien. My husband told me I become sexually aggressive and kind of wild and I don't remember any of it the next morning. My husband loves it when I take Ambien and the unusual side effect has become a private joke between us. And I guess I prefer to have this side effect instead if eating in the middle of the night and not remembering it. I just think women who are not in a monogamous relationship should be careful and know that this is a potential side effect and be careful who they are around when they take Ambien.

I love this little pill I took ambien 10mg for quite some time and it really worked for me the only reason I stopped is because my ins. doesnt want to pay. I will say this, that if I did something after taking ambien like puting things away the next morning I had a tough time remembering where I put them ( like my keys, books ect.) and my family thought that after taking it that I was an actual pleasure to be around they would often ask me to go take my pill

12.5 mg of Ambien nightly, caused slight distortions and hallucinations. I had trouble recalling what happened right before I went to bed, but people would tell me the next morning and I was able to conjure a fuzzy memory of what had happened. I just remember staring at normal objects like a stove, and watching it distort itself. ...I only experienced the "hangover" effect once.

Works like a dream for me, as the ads say. HOWEVER, I only take it 1x or 2x/week when needed. If I take it a second night in a row, I find it's less effective, which makes it easier for me to stay off.

Must admit it's tempting to take it every night, "chase that high" so to speak, but I can see it won't work anyway.

What I love is how it gently eases me to sleep, and shuts off all those stress-related thoughts that keep me awake. I think that's the best part- it's like an OFF button.

Night goes by very quickly, though- seven hours feels like a minute. Sometimes diarrhea the next morning and grogginess. So far so good.

I've taken Ambien for a few months. My family tells me of my strange bevhavior at night, and it is frustrating that I dont remeber any of it. Last night I rode my bike around the yard, crashing into trees. I had complained of double vision. I also BBQd steaks at mid-night. I have no recollection of it- am embarassed to have to ask my wife and kids what I did last night. My kids said I was acting drunk. I had double vision the next morning for the first half of the day. I wonder if I ever really sleep! I am sometimes tired the next day. As for the high - you dont remeber it anyway!

Hello all, I have also been prescribed ambien about a month ago, in the beginning it was great, I was able to go right to sleep and sleep til the next morning, about 2 weeks ago I started having problems going to sleep, I have a doctors appointment today and I'm going to ask my doctor about something else, because I think I'm passed ambien, and I'm no good not having any sleep, with a husband and 2 kids to take care of. If any of you know something that would be good, I sure would appreciate your response.

2 of the ladies that I work with have had woke up the next day after taking Ambien and found food crumbs or leftovers beside of their bed that they don't remember eating. I am very upset because, even tho I don't take Ambien on a regular basis, I took a tablet and woke up the next morning and when I looked in the mirror, I had cut my own hair! The hair and scissors were laying in the floor beside of my bed. I don't remember getting up to find the scissors OR cutting my hair. What a nightmare!

I have been taking Ambien for over a year. I take it because I have Restless Leg Syndrome and it keeps me from waking myself up when my legs jerk! It has been a life saver in that respect. I take 5 mg each night. Recently, however, I have noticed that I have been wanting to eat constantly. My appetite (& weight) has increased tremendously and I'm wondering if it's related to Ambien. Before I started breaking the 10 mg tablet in half, I would notice food missing when I got up the next morning, but had no recollection of fixing the food or eating it. Somehow in my particular body chemistry I'm finding that I want to eat more during my waking hours, and with the higher dosage I definitely ate during the night! Has anyone else had this side effect or is it just me???

For many years, I've had a great deal of difficulty falling and staying asleep. Ambien put me to sleep within minutes and kept me asleep throughout the night. I hadn't slept this soundly in years! This is the first medication I've taken to sleep which has been this effective.

I've experienced no serious side effects. I'm sometimes groggy the next morning when I take it late at night.

I usually take half the prescribed dose with excellent results.
