Aviane and anxiety

Question: I just got a new pack and my school Dr. said Lessina is the new name for Aviane?!? I've been researching it all day and can't find any answers. Does anyone know why they would change the name? I just want to know if it's something serious or just a name change :) I'm getting off Avaine anyways especially after reading all the comments on depression and anxiety side effects so many people have had. I was going to see a therapist because I have ridiculous anxiety for NO REASON and snap at everything but thanks girls...now I know I'm not crazy, it's just the pill! Life is good :)

I just started my 3rd pack of Aviane. One of the reasons I started taking birth control was to lighten up my period due to anemia. Well, so far its only made my periods worse. The first pack i had breakthrough bleeding for almost 2 weeks. It was heavy, the cramps were worse, felt sick, and worse depression/anxiety. I went to the doctor and he said this was "normal" and that I should continue the pill. During the second pack I bled for over a week and it was heavier, bad cramps and a headache for a week. Not to mention my "period" never came during the placebo pills but I know it can take time to regulate. I just started my 3rd pack of pill and I'm not feeling well. Just nauseous, sick and depressed again. Just last week when I was on the placebo pill I felt just fine and now i've started Aviane again and i feel horrible. All I know is that if bleed irregular/heavy this month again, i'm either going to go off this horrible stuff or go to the doctor to find a new birth control that doesn't make me feel sick and depressed all the time!

I have been on aviane for 3.5 years and have recently decided to turn to natural forms of birth control. I have experienced anxiety and anger, which is not my normal character response. I am mainly doing this to keep my body safe and my husband safe. I hope that my decision affects someone in a positive way.

i took aviane for a little over a month. the side effects were so severe i had to stop the pill. i experienced intense anger and mood swings,severe depression, appetite increase and weight gain,my whole body felt swollen, migraine headaches, shortness of breath, anxiety, stomach pains, I WAS MISERABLE. i stopped taking the pill 2 days ago which brought on my period along with intense pms symptoms. i'm hoping that once this period is over i will start to feel normal again. AVAINE IS THE WORST BC PILL EVER

I have been on Aviane for a year and a half after switching from Yasmine because of depression. It worked great for this long, but all of a sudden I am experiencing severe anxiety and nervousness...almost to the point of panick attacks. Has anyone else experienced this? My dr. took me off Aviane and wants me to wait a week or two before trying something else...but after almost a week off, I still feel the same? Will it take my body awhile to adjust?
