I was prescribed budeprion150xr on April 6 after an ER visit having MDD and took over 6mg of klonopin..anyway during the day and a half stay I asked the nurses desk if I could get my bupropion SR 200mg and was working fine and they said they would call the hospital pharmacy and never got at 7am,12pm,nothing then I talked to the attending doctor at 5pm and told that I couldn't take it. I had severe headaches and ask also for Advil or Tylenol..nothing. Next day same excuse...horrible hospital. the prescribed me the newer budeprion. took it next day and felt sleepy and more depressed I slept three hours in the afternoon, feel irritable, robotic and an urge to leave and never come back to where I live. 7 days of hell..I am going back to bupropion 200mg sr...what a nightmare!!

I've been taking Budeprion for the last 3 months and the only pleasant side effect has been that I've lost weight. The reason I've lost this weight is because from the minute I wake up to the minute I fall asleep, I'm nauseous and have awful headaches. I have to take at least 4 advils a day just to get by. Even more terrible is that I've started having the urge to hurt myself, something I've never had on any previous medicine (I've tried 3 different ones before this) and the bulimia that I thought I'd stopped is worse than ever before. I'm in college and can't afford to pay for the name brand. I don't know what to do.

I've been on Wellbutrin XL 300mg for quite some time now...coming up on 2 years, I think? I think I took the brand name drug at first, but for most of the time, I've taken the generic BUPROPRION--different generics from different companies, even. But this last refill, the pharmacy had switched to BUDEPRION for the generic. Bupropion and Budeprion are NOT the same!
Today is my second day on Budeprion and I feel like crap. Jittery, shaky, diarrhea, peeing constantly ("polyuria"), heart racing, nausea, nausea while hungry, hot-and-cold, and now worn out from a day of all that! My psychiatrist is on maternity leave but I've got a call in to her office to get it switched back to brand-name. Thankfully I'm in grad school, and under my student health insurance, the copay is the same for brand or generic.
Why Budeprion is considered a generic of Wellbutrin, I don't know. Wellbutrin is bupropion. This Budeprion stuff is a different chemical composition and is absorbed by/released into the body an entirely different way, from what I've been reading. When is the FDA going to get its act together???
