Celexa and sex drive

I have never had a problem before with orgasming from masturbation but since I started having sex and taking Yasmin and Celexa it has been hard for me to climax during sexual intercourse, despite becoming close to climax. I have been on Celexa for about 10 months. I have been on Yasmin for a little over a year now and have been experiencing an inability to climax and have noticed a decrease in sex drive within the past two months. Any suggestions??

I have been on celexa for 4 days I know its not a long enough time for the meds to "kick In" but i am terrified and waiting for something bad to happen. I have struggled with terrible panic attacks since my pregnancy in o6-07 and they have lingered on and gotten worse. I was ok and happy to finally take the initiative to get better, I don't like even taking Tylenol so tis is a big deal for me. I was prescribed 10mg and have been only taking 5 of the 10 to wean myself into this drug.. I wish i could know what to expect and all i feel is nauseous, weird and shaky and last night i couldn't fall back to sleep i felt a lil dizzy is this normal?? I hope i don't have any vision loss also!

I have been on Celexa (citalopram) for about 13 months. I took it at night, starting with 10mg and over time worked up to 60mg which is the max. dose. My doctor switched me to Lexapro and then Cymbalta to see if they worked better, but eventually I ended up back on Celexa, that seemed to be best. I did gain about 35 pounds on it, though and was still going, along with absolutely NO sex drive whatsoever. When my husband could finally coax me into it, I couldn't orgasm at all. I finally begged him to even stop trying, the attempts seemed to annoy me. This wasn't me, so I slowly tried weaning off of it. First down to 40, then 20, then 10.

so here's my question: I've been completely off of it for 3 days now and I'm still feeling dizzy, lightheaded, have indigestion, headaches, etc. The other times I was off of it, I went right on another med, so I didn't seem to notice the side effects. Anyone who has been taken off of Celexa, PLEASE respond and let me know how long these awful effects last? I have a 2 year old I have to care for and she doesn't understand why mommy feels "woozy" all the time.

SHE PRESCRIBED CELEXA AND SAID THIS SHOULD HELP. ALL OF A SUDDEN I HAVE NO SEX DRIVE, HEADACHES, NAUSEA, DIZZY, LOSS OF APPETITE, SHORT OF BREATH, MOUTH IS DRY, VERY EMOTIONAL, MY WHOLE BODY ACHES. IM GOING TO THE DR. AND HAVING HER TAKE ME OFF I WOULD RATHER JUST HAVE THE HEADACHES. DOES ANY ONE ELS HAVE THESE SYMPTOMS?????

been on Celexa for 3 months now. started at 20 mg now at 40
no more morning axaity, feel happy more often, but with all the side effects I don't think it's worth it. my doctor is now weaning me off it. going to try Wellbutrin next.

I have been on Celexa for a number of years and am taking 60 mg. My side effects keep get worse. I have trouble sleeping, I have horrible mood swings...lots of angry outburts, I have migraines, light and noise senistive, shaky, weight for sure. I have had a change in my sense of taste, I grind my teeth at night, I have no sex drive at all, blurry vision. I have dry eye and mout, skeletal pain, eye pain, hot flushes, edema, loss of balance craving for sweets and salty foods, more depressed than before b/c of all of the side effects and I am tired all of the time. I am only 35 years and I should be enjoying live instead I hide in my house away from the outside world.

I have been taking celexa for 2 years but i quitted 2 months ago. I feel great !!! but it left me with a little problem I HAVE NO SEX DRIVE wich makes me feel "miss erable" .
I'm 25 and i used to have by 20 orgasms in the same day and now all of it is gonee!
I will appreciate if someboby knows for how long does that happens? havent someone got rid off this awfull side effect?

I have been taking citalopram now for over a year. Started out with 20mg but now down to 10mg. Started taking for anxiety and it helped considerably. I do have some side effects, but nothing I cant live with. I sleep well, although only for a good 5-6 hours, but I do feel rested and never tired throughout the day. I have lost weight, too much in fact. I am down under 100 lbs, when I started I was about at 116. I do have a slight nauseous feelings in the mornings, but food always makes that go away. The worst is that i too have no sex drive. Having a two year old doesn't help things, but there is no desire for sex. I am doing much better now and am planning on getting off of it as soon as my script' runs out. Good luck to you all!

no sex drive!! that sucks being that I've been on antidepressants for 9 years (I'm 19). all of them, including celexa, did this.

excessive sweating/hot flashes

I started taking citalopram a week ago. I had taken Lexapro for 3 months prior to that, but my insurance company was switched and they wouldn't cover Lexapro until I tried something else first. I didn't really notice any side effects that were different from Lexapro. When I first started taking Lexapro I was really really tired and had a headache and little appetite. However this weekend I got really sick and was vomiting and still feel naseaus the past two days. It had been several days since I started taking it so I don't know if it was from that or something else. I have also had problems falling asleep at night so I have switched to taking it in the morning.

I also am worried about weight gain since I think I need to lose weight. While on lexapro I did not gain any weight and my sex drive actually increased, but since I had none before that wasn't much. I hope with citalopram I don't have any more side effects.

I just started taking Celexa a couple weeks ago. So far my side effects have been fatigue, bad dreams, sweating, carb cravings, and a decrease in sex drive. I want to sleep all day. I usually am awake by 800 ready to go and lately I sleep until the afternoon and only pull myself out of bed becuase of school. IF i had my choice I would sleep all day. Also I was what is considered a nimpho in the bedroom but since this drug I have had zero physical sex drive. After reading these side effects I wonder if I should quit taking it before it's to late.

I've taken Celexa on and off 3 times, 6-8 mo. ea. and each time I get a little nervious and shaky fo the first 4 hours or so then it's fine. I feel great after about a week. Depression/ dark periods are definiatly taken care of. Sex drive has not changed, perhaps only gotten better. Orgasm is definately more difficult to achieve, but I don't find it a problem...if anything, it's a plus. I alway can stop w/ no problem when I think things are in order.

I have been on Celexa for 4 years have had all of the above side effects plus very weird and scary dreams, have gotten used to all side effects other than the sexual side effects I HAVE NO SEX DRIVE at all and if I did have not had an orgasm in over 6 months. I also sweat profusly and I have stopped taking the medicine while pregnant and had VERY BAD panic attacks. I have grown a true dependancy to Celexa.

20 mg. SEVERE memory loss. So bad I thought I would lose my job. Zero sex drive. Mind racing, holding one thought at a time hard. Off Celexa now for 7 months. Wellbrutrin XL, experiencing weight loss, memory is back and mind is calm. Still no sex drive.

I have been on Celexa for over 2yrs now. I have gained some weight due to my sweet cravings. I also noticed the sweats but I attribute that to peri-menapause symptoms.
I have never had a decrease in my sex drive as a symptom, however; I did experience decrease in sex drive as a side effect in 4 different types of anti depressants I have been on in the past such as paxil, welburton, elliville, and zoloft.
This is the best one that has worked for me with the least side effects. ON the other ones I also had terrible nightmares.
