I have been on Celexa for about 2 months coming off Zerazone. First the doctor started me on 20 mg's which made me shakey as the day wore on. I take this with 7.5Mg's of Tranxene cut in half twice a day for anxiety. Then the doctor increased it to 40 Mg's once a day with breakfast. But then I have been experiencing severere diareah and loose bowells. My stomache Dr. thinks its from either of three items, the Celexa, olive oil pills or the Prevacid for peptic ulcers. So he stopped the olive oil pills for high triglicerides, and now has stopped the prevacid and told me if the bowell problems don't stop then I would have to stay off the Celexa for a week or take a colonoscopy again which I had 18 months ago. The problem is I might get severe withdrawall symptoms and anxiety attacks if I go off the celexa. I might try cutting back to 20 mg's for a week and see if this helps. I recently had an upper endoscopy for the ulcers and they found 3-non cancerous leissions. Would appreciaty any advice I can get as I have a long history of anxiety attacks.

Hi, I'm 23. I have been on Citalopram for 6 days now. I am also taking beta blockers to slow my heart rate due to having panic attacks. I've found that my mood had improved up until yesterday evening, and I've been feeling much calmer and sleeping ok. This may be due to the beta blockers though. The side effects that I have experienced haven't been as bad as they sound. Felt really spaced out for 3 days and my vision was slightly blurry but is improving considerably now. I have been craving sweet things- but that's probably due to my menstrual cycle! Wake up feeling a bit shakey in the morning but after some food I feel fine. I'm really positive about this medication and I think if you keep a positive attitude and don't worry about the side effects, you will be a happy soon enough.
