I am bipolar and have ADHD, i started with wellbutrin, then zoloft, and then divalproex sodium. I am now on celexa and clonazepam. The very first day I took celexa I felt wonderful, and now the good feeling wears off in the afternoon, so my doctor upped my dosage 10mg. Some of the symptoms I have read here sound like type 2 diabetes to me, I was just diagnosed with that. Best thing is to no stay on a med that does not make you feel good, by all means go back to your doctor or change doctors, you see doctors are not pharmacists, and we are the guinea pigs until they get it right. Best of wishes to all of you, and take care.

I just recently switched from Divalproex 'Sodium to Celexa, and I take Clonazepam with it. The very first day with celexa I felt wonderful. The Divaproex was giving me rage attacks, and bad ones too. Some of the symptoms you guys have described sounds like symptoms from type 2 diabetes, which I just found out I have. Celexa for me works, I have been on Wellbutrin, Zoloft, and Divalproex. Eventually I hope to be off all the medicine I am on. Weight problem along with all this medicine is a big cause of stress, anxiety, and fatigue. I do have the sexual problem, I have been prescribed Lavitra but have not started taking it yet.

I have been on Celexa for a little over a week for panic attacks/anxiety. The first 2 days I took it I felt like I was in a dream, light headed, tingly, pretty much just intensifying my problems in the first place so I stopped taking Celexa for a few days.. then I spoke with my doctor and she said to try taking it at night instead of the morning. So I began taking Celexa at bedtime. I didn't have much side effects except for a little trouble sleeping, but I actually was starting to feel "better", for about 4 days I was feeling really well and resuming normal activities. Then out of nowhere on that 4th day in the evening I got a really bad panic attack, and for the past 3 days since I've been feeling high anxiety and panic again. I don't understand, because I really felt like I was getting better. I told my doctor what has been happening and all she said was that its normal to have set backs and to continue the Celexa. I'm also taking Ativan to help control the anxiety until the Celexa "kicks in", but in the past few days nothing has been seeming to help. Has anyone experienced this? Is it because I've only been on Celexa for a week? I feel like I am going crazy being back in this lightheaded fog.

My biggest problem with this drug is diarreah, every day all day, it's totally ludicrous. I do like this drug, it is better than zoloft, paxil and lexapro. (also cheaper cuz I get the generic). The only thing I don't like is that I'm still tired all the time and I have blurry vision too.

I have been on Celexa for over 2yrs now. I have gained some weight due to my sweet cravings. I also noticed the sweats but I attribute that to peri-menapause symptoms.
I have never had a decrease in my sex drive as a symptom, however; I did experience decrease in sex drive as a side effect in 4 different types of anti depressants I have been on in the past such as paxil, welburton, elliville, and zoloft.
This is the best one that has worked for me with the least side effects. ON the other ones I also had terrible nightmares.
