Just took first dose and hoping it works, I'm coughing like crazy and can't get anything out and can't sleep at night cause the cough keeps me up, I'm curios about this Tussionex, is it appropriate for me to ask my doctor about using it instead if this doesn't work?

I've taken it 2xs now & have sharp/severe pain in my stomach & also my bck???? I've had tussionex (sp?) b4 with bronchitis & that didn't do this crap! Even the grapey tasting syrup doesn't do it either. While I've found grape syrup not as great on cough but the thick fruity tasting tussionex is good (just a bit stronger when I took 1st time I was cocky about it thought it couldn't be that strong..umm wrong!! Kicked my butt! It did work though!
Has any1 else had such a pain stomach or back when u took this Cheratussin AC?? If so please post...thanks.

Unfortunately, I was not able to sleep at all, all night. Took my second dose at nighttime, about an hour before bed, and I layed down, closed my eyes, and layed there for hours with my mind racing. I was not asleep at all. I didn't have nightmares or bad dreams, but I couldn't get to a point where I was sleeping either. During the day, I didn't seem to have any adverse reactions. I think I'll avoid prior to bed in the future. Good luck.

This morning after taking this stuff I started feeling like I was 2 feet shorter than I really am. It was the strangest sensation I've ever experienced. Then a little while ago after taking my dose for nighttime I started to experience severe coughing and and literally blacked out. My wife freaked out, she said all my limbs were shaking. I woke up to her screaming.
Needless to say, I'm shelving this stuff.

I find that this medication (Cheratussin AC) is less effective than Tussionex. I believe that the hydrocodone component in Tussionex is more influential and efficacious on the respiratory system than the otolaryngological effects produced by codeine. Codeine, surprisingly, is less potent, in my experience, than hydrocodone. One would expect that codeine would yield more beneficial effects concerning pain relief and cough suppression, as opposed to a more distant relative of morphine, such as hydrocodone. It's interesting how medication affects physiological functioning. This medication, though, generally creates sides effects that are fatigue-oriented, including drowsiness, decreased energy or enervation, and related somnolence symptoms.

I have been coughing up the crud in the mornings and then in the evenings it seems like that I am about to have a heart attack because my chest hurts me so bad. I am still coughing like crazy and I still don't feel any better since they started me on this med 4 days ago.

Do you see the muscous turn red as you blow your nose? We see this a few minutes after taking the teaspoon of Cheratussin AC syrup.

I don't recall having any weird dreams or nightmares. I've been taken this syrup for 3 days now, when I wake up, a couple times during the day and before I go to sleep. It's doing what the site said, it's loosening up my mucus crud and I cough it up and spit it out. Mostly in the morning, like I'm coughing up a lung. I'm still coughing and I hope I get better soon.

I only have taken maybe 3 or 4 doses, and have been having real bad nightmares. Just wondered if this was common for anyone else.

I've been taking Cheratussin AC for just a couple of nights; not long enough to know for sure. At night because that is when I have this tickling type cough that wakes me up. But does it have a rebound effect?
I ask because my nose had been relatively open during the day - especially opened up during a shower. Now, for some reason it stays stuffed up.
