My son says the medicine burns after he puts it in.When he turns his hear over to let it drain out. also it seems he has developed some type of additional sore on the inside of his ear after starting the treatment. We will contact the doctor concerning the sore.

could they be from the cresylate the spills out of my ears?

as an ent doctor with 36 years of apppling cresylate to infected ears i can tell you that the product is unsurpassed in treatment of fungal external ear problems. some stinging is common if the ear is badly infected. very severe pain usually incicates a perforation of the ear drum, especially if the pain is felt down into the neck area. it only takes a couple of applications to do the job and if it is used excessively it is very caustic to the ear and , as noted in the other posts, to the skin surrounding the ear. take care with this very potent drug.
