Darvocet A500 side effects

I am 51 years old i have been taking this medication for over 20 years. I was taking 2 pills a day which was helping me a quite a bit. My son was just born when i started and he is now going to be 20 years old. I have servere arthritis on my knees and i need to have knee replacement on both knees. No im taking this darvocet 4 or sometimes 5 a day and it really helps me to stay on my feet. I cannot stand on my feet for over 10 minutes i'm in pain and i want to cry. I am on disability and this pill has help me to much . It also gives me energy makes me want to be on my feet cleaning and also helps me with my sex drive. I want to be with a man for a longer period of time, and yes i feel a little sleepy so i rest when i want to , i can take a nap at least twice if i want too. If i want to stay up all day i do its all a mind thing. It does give me a little stomach pain if i take it with a empty stomach, other wise it really helps me . I will take this medication for as long as i have to because i do not want to have surgery on my knees. I also have back pain but i feel fine when i take my medication. I also take naproxen 500 mg and lisinipril 20mg all in total i take 5 different medications twice a day. But i will not stop taking my darvocet because without it i feel weak, i cannot move without feeling pain all over. I feel like im 80- years old when im not taking my pills, but i feel like im 30 years old when i taking this medication it really makes me feel energetic , happy , very good sex drives and i can live with this forever. Hope this will help someone, who is confused, about this drug. I have 6 sisters with the same problems knee problems and my mother who is 68 years old and she also takes this for pain.

someone gave me a pill that they said is darvacet. i took one, but it didnt do anything for me.the pill is pink and white inside. the imprint says 5114 on one side and a v on the other. what is this pill. i would surely like to know.

I have been taking Darvoset for 2 1/2 years for Cushings Disease. This drug has help me live with the pain. It takes the edge off the hard aches and paines from this disease. In the begining it made me sleepy, but now it takes about an hour to hit the pain last about 3 hrs and I am ready to take the next dose. When I have migraine headaches Imetrix did not touch the pain, so I tried 2 Darvosets at once and it help the headache.

I just wanted to post my opinion on Darvocet. I have been taking this medication for 8yrs. At first I would take one & feel fuzzy. After gradually building up a tolerance to it my doctor would up the medication & the only side effect that I get is having a hard time reading, things can get a bit blurry by trying to focus. I am now up to as many as 12 daily & function like normal. Everyone's body is different therefore it will effect everyone different. Personally if I did not have this medication I would not be able to go about my day likes many other's. You may feel tired/sleepy when you are first on it but that goes away. If you are on it & think it is not helping you, I would recommend taking it on an empty stomach & see if that helps. If you do get itchy from it, do not be overly concerned just take 1 benadryl with the Darvocet & in a short period of time you won't experience that symptom. Thanks for allowing me to post my note!

I think most people are just trying to renounce this wonderful drug. All Darvocet is, tylenol (triple strength) it has NO real narcotics in it, like Percocet, etc. I have been on Darvocet for almost 5 years by my doctor. I take roughly 12 tablets a day now for pain, and when I mention that it sometimes doesnt help anymore my doc just up's my prescription, so I take more, which does help ease pain. It's a miracle drug for me, I have had no side effects except pain relief, and like I said I take 3 at a time, and somedays I take 12. If it wasn't for Darvocet I would be on disability instead of working.

I took this before going to the movies. Halfway there I could barely drive. The streetlights were glowing in a strange way. My heartbeat felt strange and my face itched. By the time I parked my car and ran towards the box office (late), I felt like I was floating. In the theater I saw people in front of me, talking. They faded away because they were not really there. I felt horrible, I felt dizzy and the floor was spinning. I stumbled to the bathroom and almost threw up but couldn't. I dragged myself to the counter and bought a soda, which tasted horrible but which I forced myself to drink. I was gasping and the world was spinnning. All in all it was a hellish experience. I will never take this drug again. It also did not get rid of my neck pain.
