Demadex and diuretic

I have been taking demedex for about 2 years now, I have trouble with my feet an dlegs swelling which was the result of a removal of a cancerous kidney. Nothing seems to work but this drug to relieve the swelling. the problem is that for the last 6 months I have been having very bad pain in my feet and legs and at times am unable to set my feet down on the ground for days at a time, as I have very bad pain. this usually lasts for about 4 to 5 days and I have learned to quit taking the pills for a s\short time of sevral days, in which my feet an legs swell unmercifully again and , then I start taking them all over again, Has anyone out there had this trouble with this drug or any other diuretic.
