I also am rare and love this form of birth control. It reduced my anxiety giving me a more stabilized feel, no depression, took away cramps and pms cravings and symptoms (which I had a spectrum of) all my acne is GONE, and I've gained maybe just a few pounds but all these benefits for me have been completely worth it. I have been very happy with it and will probably not go off of it until I want to have kids:) My sex drive has decreased only a little but it was high before so in a way it's kind of nice. I recommend this pil for anyone with an abundance of testosterone, like I had.

I have been taking Apri (generic) for 2 months now. I will not be taking it anymore, as it has caused me to have trouble sleeping, anxiety, and severe mood changes. I have also noticed a lot of bloating around menstruation, enough that my clothes won't fit. My periods have been lighter than before, the only plus in my book. I also have decreased interest in sex.

I've been taking Apri for about 3 weeks now. I previously took Yasmin, which was great. Unfortunatly I've had terrible side effects with Apri. I've gained about 5 lbs, even my feet and hands are swollen, I'm irritable, I've had anxiety, depression and my mood swings are out of control. I'm finishing this pack then I'm done. It's so not worth it!

My first month using this was o.k. Although I did expierence some anxiety around menstruation. The second month was a nightmare. Duck tapping my breast would have been more comfortable. Plus the mood swings were rough and the anxiety is more than anyone should ever have to deal with. My poor boyfriend is a saint.

I had bleeding and pain. I suffered from depression and anxiety after getting off. It was the scariest drug I have ever been on.

Was fine for the first two months...a little spotting/some breakthrough bleeding, but nothing really awful. About three months in, I began experiencing terrible anxiety with such terrible panic attacks that I was pretty incapacitated as a mother (my poor little kids). My periods began starting the week before they "actually" started...you could call it "breakthrough" bleeding, but it was really a full-on bleed with lots of clotting, back pain, and cramps so bad I felt like I was having contractions. Most recently has been the nausea, I've actually lost weight because I've hardly been able to eat for weeks (thought it might be morning sickness---yikes!--but luckily my fun 2.5 week period began, painfully, yesterday so I'm in the clear). I didn't realize these things were all related to Desogen until I reread the package...it's pretty clear that the pills are the reason. I'll be switching pills next month at my annual appt.
