I take Eltroxin 50 mg 1 daily and I am gaining weight have leg cramps and changes in menstrual period should I stop taking it

I'm taking my ELTROXIN for about 2 weeks now I'm soo scared of the side effects they say u may have wight loss and hairloss i used to be a very skinny girl but now I'm on my normal ideal weight ..plzz tell me what r the serious side effects ...I'm having leg cramps right now is this alos a serious side effects..my doc recommend me to take caltrate plus twice daily.
