I also felt the "hangover" effect as mentioned by the others. Headache, foggy thick, I call it "doughy brain", agitation. I have a connective tissue disease, FMS following trauma from 06 auto accident plus chronic neck and back pain so the pros outweigh the cons. I take a Vicodin 750mg Flexeril and Serax cocktail at night before bed...and sometimes sleep...sucks.

Prescribed Flexeril 10 mg/3 times a day for back and neck pain and stiffness. I had no relief with one tablet, so yesterday I took 2 tablets at noon, then another tablet before bed. Today my muscles are looser, but I have a strange tingling and numbness sensation on my left side. It's affecting the left side of my upper and lower lip and face, left shoulder, left arm and fingers and left leg. It's not painful but I am a bit scared. The pill should only last 4-5 hours and it's now been 10 hours since that last bedtime dose. So why am I still feeling this effect and when will it go away? And I am supposed to take 3 a day for a month?! I am not sure if I will be taking anymore.

Rx for 10mg Flexeril 6/19/08 for severe muscle spasms upper back and neck. Took one tablet 6/19 2pm, one tablet 6/19 10pm. Slept well, but woke up with spasms worse than ever. Took 2 10mg tablets 6/20 7am and slept ALL day - 16 hours in a 24 hour period. This is day 5, 10 mg 3 times a day. It has greatly decreased the muscle spasms, but makes me feel spacey and out of it. Today my wiccan goddess friend asked me if I was stoned - she said my eyes looked funny and my energy "felt chaotic". I didn't tell her I was on Flexeril. Makes me wonder: do I appear more "altered" to others than I feel inside myself? That's bad, because if I have less control than I realize, I probably shouldn't be -- well, driving, for one thing. For five days I had an odd sense of well-being - today I feel agitated. My heart has been racing all day, which it hasn't done before.

I used to take 10mg of Flexeril back when I was in high school for my TMJ and upper back/neck/shoulder pain. I would take it at night, and I would wake up late almost every day. I would feel very "out of it" all day, and I began experiencing feelings of depression. Being a very emotionally stable person, this was strange. I stopped taking it.

I just started it up again and took 10mg last night. I woke up somewhat irritable, and I feel extremely stressed and depressed. I feel like crying for no reason. Not sure if I'll continue this drug.

I have taken 1/2 during the day and 1 whole at night. It helps me sleep really good, but during the day I feel extremely nervous. I've only been taking it about 1wk. It doesn't make me feel nervous at night before sleeping. That seems strange to me. I won't be getting a refill, not even sure that I'll finish what I have.

Took a few tablets over a few days. Slept excessively. Extremely Mental Grogginess for a few weeks. Went Back to the Doctor & Explained the negative effects. He said, "That feeling of stupidity you had, some people don't come out of it. We don't prescribe it anymore." I feel it took about 6 months to regain sharp memory & mental abilities. I was prescribed Flexeril for cronic muscle ache & spasms. It did ease my back spasms & aches, but not worth it due to the side effects.

I took Flexeril for a couple of days for muscle spasms in my neck and shoulder area. It was very effective at first. Then one day I went to stand up and my knees went week and I couldn't stand for a couple of moments. After 10 minutes I was fine, I called my doctor and he told me to stop taking it. I went for physical therapy and that worked very well. This was 10 years ago but I still remember the name of the drug. I don't know what caused that one reaction.

I was prescribed Flexeril (non-branded) 10MG for two weeks for back pain. I was prescribed to take 1 tablet at night before bed so I wouldn't be drowsy for school. I noticed after a couple days of taking it (I began taking it after having the injury for several weeks and seeing no improvement) that my back pain was in fact decreasing. However, I also began to notice that I had nightmares or intense dreams at night and that during the day I was somewhat "out of it." In the middle of the second week I definitely was not feeling myself and started having suicidal thoughts and was very irritable. I stopped taking it because that's not like me. The back pain was overwhelming...but the side effects were almost as bad.

I took flexerill for a locked jaw. The next morning I lost my ability to speak correctly. I stuttered slighly then started to speak as if I had cerebral palsy. My symptoms mimicked a stroke, it lasted a week! After extensive research, it was found that there was less than one percent of a chance this would happen. I will NEVER take it again.

I was perscribed to flexeril for a back injury. It doesnt make the pain (which isnt that bad) feel any better. It does make me sleep wonderfully though. I wouldnt dare take it in the middle of the day, but at night when I take it, I calm down and fall asleep in about 20 minutes.

I've been taking Flexeril for almost 2 years for chronic neck and head pain, muscle spasms - which I've had for over 5 years. The flexeril has helped to decrease the amount of spasms I have in my neck. Recently, my upper body muscles have started to shrink and I have lost weight without dieting. I must find out what the long term affects are to taking this drug.

When I wake up in the morning I feel like I'm on some painkillers or something. I can't stand talking to anyone because everything they do bothers me. I snap at everyone all the time for the littlest things. It makes you feel like you gave like 2 pints of blood out and your so out of it you don't know what to think.

Although I have not taken my prescribed 3 pills a day for 10 days (I've missed some here and there), I've noted a bloated, heavy feeling in my body. Turns out tht even with eating right and working out (regular for me), I've gained 5 pounds!! I just hope it's water-weight. I've also noticed the light-headedess and dizziness if I get up too fast from an exercise set when I work out

I've been taking Flexeril for 3 years now for Fibromyalgia Syndrome. Initial side-effect during first couple of days was a morning hangover feeling which wore off quickly. I too am curious about long-term usage since I will probably be taking this the rest of my life for FMS.

After falling on my right rib cage, tearing muscle tissue, I was precribed a 5mg dose- 1-3 times daily.

Usually, I only needed to take one during the night, when the pain was worst. (Took ibuprofen during the day -due to the dizziness, drowsiness effects of flexeril).

However, I noted that each morning after I took the flexeril - I woke up like "a bear with a sore head" to quote my wife's phrase. Free -floating hostility, irritabililty - snapping at every minor thing and every one. The effects sometimes taking the whole morning to wear off.

Has anyone else noticed such 'psychological' side effects? I am sure they were attached to the flexeril, since once I'd stopped taking it, the 'bearishness' and chronic distemper creased.

Note: I have been historically a 'drug-sensitive' person, and perhaps even at the 5 mg dose, I was OD'ing. That is one theory anyway.

A friend gave me Flexeril for neck spasms and it caused extreme confusion and dizziness. It's been 18 hours since I took 10mg pill and I still can't focus. This is worse than any drug I have ever taken.

I've had Fibromyalgia for a long time. The #1 thing, is to have a positive attitude. Get info. about this disease. Get moving. Start out slowly. Do what you are able to do, nothing more and nothing less. I know its hard to keep moving. But if u dont, ur stuck with no life. I've been down this road too. Get some physical therapy. I have found, for me, that pool therapy is the best. I dont have as much gravity to deal with in a swimming pool. The water seems to hold u up. Get involved in som...

Hi Guys I have been suffering from chronic daily headaches since March 2006. Have been to 4 neurologists and they all confirm that there is nothing seriously wrong with me neurologically and they put it down to stress. I have tried herbal remedies, acupuncture, body stress release, dietician, exercise, pain killers, massage, physio, posture modifying appliance, bean bags and oils, ice pack, pilates, chiropractor, daily meds like inderal and trepiline and still, nothing has been able to give me long te...

I was given the fantastic news that my body doesn't like itself anymore. I don't know when it had a falling out, but all I can say is the course of action to remedy this disease is CRAZY. Taking meds that have more side effects and the restrictions on my daily life, because of the meds, no driving, no salt, no sugar, and little fat in my diet, very little sun. Bathing in skin moisturizer, moodiness, mental confusion, can't work, but expected to continue cooking for family, and cleaning. Which I guess ...

My partner insists that he's not drunk & he's just very tired. He has slured speech, incoherent, unsteady on his feet & drops off to sleep in the blink of an eye. Could it be something other that drink related? or is he just pretending to himself he's ok?
