It made me bloated, excitable, moody, depressed, angry and most of all, lost my sense of smell. Not to mention, 2 weeks after I stared taking it I caught a horrible cold and I never get sick, accept for my allergies. I only took this medicine for about 3 weeks. I cannot wait until it is out of my system. I know it has steroids in it and they are powerful drugs and it can stay in your system for a long time.

I have a 3 year old that was taking Singulair until today after I read the horrible side effects that I was seeing in my child. He is also taking Flonase, one squirt in each notstril every morning. Are there any concerns I need to know? Is this truly safe for a 3 year old?

Flonase worked very well for my allergies for about 3 years then I developed a resistance to it. I can honestly say I don't think I had any bad side effects from it.

horrible headaches, about three to four a week that don't really respond to excedrin or Tylenol. also insomnia! never had any problem falling off to sleep and now it's extremely difficult to fall asleep and stay that way. the only thing that has changed in my routine is flonase. beginning to suspect flonase is the cause and will stop taking it. every time i start back up on it again i go through this cycle again (this is the 2nd cycle). started back in October after visit to ent for chronic congestion. the congestion was bad, but at least i could go with out horrible blinding headaches and could sleep, that poor man's medicine.

Had been given Flonaise perscription by U.S.Army allergist. Worked ok got bloody nose from it once and a while. used over a period of four years. All of a sudden woke up to the smell of what I thought was acetone aka nail polish remover. This was not the case because we had no nail polish remover in the house. Every thing smelled like acetone, for up to two weeks. I went to see a nurology doctor and had an MRI done worrying about a possible tumor. narrowing things down we concluded it was the Flonaise. I discontinued the drug and still four years later can not smell much of anything. Once in a while I can smell a slight smell for a moment then its gone. I have been using a "Netti Pot and flushing my sinus's out three times a day. I have had no more problems with severe symptoms of rhinitus. Wish I could get my smell back.

I'm beginning to think these palpitations are caused by Flonase. I've gotten them one and off for the past few years - always chalked them up to stress... but I've also been on and off Flonase for the past few years. Correlation? Wish I was more conscientious...
I actually started back up with Flonase about 2 weeks ago, noticed the palpitations and stopped the Flonase for a few days, but still had them. I guess the medicine could still be in your system after a few days. Any thoughts?

After about 1/2 hour of using Flonase for the first time, I felt a burning or tearing-type feeling in my left chest more toward the shoulder area. Then after a couple of days use I felt an irritation in the shoulder joint and this subsequently traveled to my rib cage. After about a week's worth of use, I felt a burning-like sensation in a small area on my lateral lower leg. I stopped using the Flonase and after about 4 days, the sensations subsided.

After using a same type of product a long time ago I was put back on this product 2 years ago. I became very ill in the 5 or 6 months after using it every day. I learned I had a bad tooth after it was out I seemed to be better yet never achived total health. Then a year and a half later I would "catch everything" as in I was sick a whole lot and had a constant leg pain. Now after this spring I stopped using it. Slow but sure my health started to return. Then a few weeks ago the fall time nose things started to kick up and I got the stuff out and started using it as I was told and wow sick again. The leg pain, joints hurting all the same things came back. I am not using it again and I will be speaking with my Dr. about this. I do not think this is a "safe" product for anyone to be putting up their nose.

I used in the past Flonase and worked. This time, I used the "generic" by other laboratory. I used it only once.
Developed a headache, felt virus-like symptoms and blisters on my lips. The most uncomfortable side effect ... 12 days and counting, everything with an aroma (or smell), smells the same, like some chemical. Even coffee, food. Have not used it again but side effects continue. Have tried saline spray to clean nostrils ... nothing has worked. Just wait??

Two weeks ago I started Flonase. After the first day I became achy all over. Thought I had the flu. On the third day of using it I wasn't able to sleep. I was restless, nervous. I believe it may have interacted with my Zyrtec that I take for chronic hives. I took both meds at bedtime which was probably a mistake. After the third day of using it I got a sore throat. Not scratchy or raw but really sore. It hurts when I swallow. I have had the sore throat for nearly 2 weeks now. I also got a yeast infection about a week after I used the product. I used a 3 day treatment for that and hope it is gone, even though I still have a little irritation from the yeast infection. Needless to say, I won't use Flonase again, apparently my body can not tolerate it.

I have used flonase for several years now. It is apparent to me that I have lost my sense of smell. I know that Zicam is being sued for a side effect that causes the loss of sense of smell. Has anyone else experienced this with Flonase?

After taking Flonase for many years, I noticed that I would a get sty (red shollen, clogged up hair follicle) in my eye everytime I wore eye-makeup.
Then I had to get off flonase for 3 months to have my lasik eye surgury, and noticed that I no longer got these annoying stys.
Then once back on, the stys started to come back again. Now, I am getting off Flonase completely to see if that eliminates the problem.

when on vacation last november, i started having palpitations, where my heart literally paused/ skipped a beat. i went to the er and they did a bunch of tests and i now have a med bill of 10K+ for one day in hospital!
no blood clot (air travel and oc's within the previous year made them suspicious), but they found a very small asd/ pfo (heart).
my thyroid hormones were totally whacked, a blood clotting enzyme was elevated and my oxygen level upon exertion was low (dyspnea). i'm tired of seeing docs so i try to destress and exercise more.
the only thing i was on at the time was the flonase...i had been on it for more than 2 weeks and for the 2nd or 3rd time this year...my ent told me it was okay. yasmin is also a suspect in my drama, but that posting is on the yasmin side effects page.
write to me at ******, if you have had similar symptoms or have questions.

I seem to have trouble taking a full breath, yawning and my heart seems to beat fast and race. I am going to stop taking Flonase and see if these symptoms go away.

I feel like my breathing is being squeezed off especially if I lie on my back. I am wondering if it has to do with flonase.

While using Flonase I lost 90 per cent of my sense of taste and smell. Very unsettling, but resolved quickly after I discontinued the medication.

I take 25 mg. of Atenolol for heart irregularity. Sometimes my heart rate elevates to over 300/bpm. Has Flonase been found to contribute to that? Since taking Flonase (4 weeks), I have had more episodes of the irregularity and that is new. The Atenolol had kept me stable for over a year.
This happened to me one time before while taking Flonase (increased episodes of irregular heart rate) and I suspected Flonase so discontinued its usage. I am, however, under some new pressure and stress so don't want to blame Flonase if it's not known to cause this problem.
Thank you.
Jennifer
