My three year old son has been on Flovent since he was two, he has been showing signs of restlessness, aggression, sleeplessness and other behavior problems, I did not think anything was wrong until I looked up the effects and saw they were listed as a reason to stop taking the medication. I have been doing my own trial and error research with him. He has been off Flovent for two weeks and I have not seen a difference in his behavior, luckily his asthma was ok, which leaves me to believe that it is the Singular pill that is the problem. I will post an update in two more weeks under the Singular side effects.

We have been gradually decreasing my son off of Flovent because of the side effects and have found a natural supplement that works amazingly well for asthma and allergies, sinuses, and a ton of other health related problems. Here is a website where it can be found.
******
The supplement is called OPC-3. I would highly recommend it!

How do you know if you are on to high of a does of Flovent? I was on (2) puffs of Flovent HFA 110 Mg in the morning. I developed some breathing issues and my Pulmonologist increased it to (2) puffs TWICE per day -- I have been doing that for (2) months - and it has NOT helped the breathing issues at all (think they are related to ACID/REFLUX). Anyway I recently (past two weeks) have started to have weird upper chest issues??? Wondering if maybe I do not need so much Flovent - how do you step down from it gradually?
Thank you ALL....

I'm a 25 year old female and recently found out that I have asthma. I have been using flovent for about 4 weeks and have had about an 8 pound weight gain. Could this be a side effect from taking this medication?

Can you experience muscle and joint aches and pain from using Flovent? I have been using it for about 10 years now and am experiencing this.

Have a 20 month old daughter who we were told to give Flovent twice a day. Had to take her off because of diarrhea and globs and/or strings of mucus in her poops. Two days after we took her off, the problem was gone. Now have her on some Chinese herbs and no puffers. Doing very well!`

DOC RECOMENDS MY SON TO TAKE FLOVENT INSTEAD OF THE PULMICORT HE IS CURRENTLY ON. HE IS 15MOS AND THEY SAID IT WOULD BE A TRIAL. I WAS WONDERING IF THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA, OR JUST ANOTHER MONEY MOTIVATED RECOMMENDATION.

I have taken this medication for years (in long stretches). I was not aware of some of the serious side effects not just with this drug but with corticosteroids in general. There is a group of side effects that can cause mental and cognitive issues. I experienced fatigue, confusion, confusion, inability to focus, and serious memory issues. It was bad enough I would completely forget what I was doing or be unable to understand anything if there were other noises. After doing some research I found that these inhaled steroids can have just as many and as severe side effects as oral steroids. I dosed down off of Flovent over a months time and gradually all of the horrible cognitive issues went away. This may not be a very common side effect but they have to tell people it can happen. How many other people have gone years living in a fog not knowing it was a simple asthma inhaler causing their problems.
